OK so I lost one of my credit cards, the creditor replaced the card, noted to original TL as closed lost or stolen and opened another acct with the new card, I have ahd this happen in the past and never had a score drop, but it did this time, OUCH 20 pts

I am sure it will go back up next month but still OUCH! Oooo the cost of being forgetful I did find the old card by the way AFTER I got the new one.

I'm confused why would they do a hard pull? All you did was lose the card. They should have simply closed the old card and sent a new one with a new number.

Am I missing somthing?

LOL they didn't do another pull, Due to the possibility of someone finding the car (other then me) they closed the reported TL and mark it lost or stolen so it can't be used again and if someone attempted to use the lost card it would show on the system, the reporting is to cover their butts in case I claim the charges were not mine due to a lost or stolen card.

They are reporting the new account with the same original open date not a new one.

It shows I have 2 accounts with that creditor but one is closed and one is open and why

Did they properly backdate the new card?

Yes they did

The main thing a lost/stolen TL affects is average age. Maybe this account was a lot younger than your average?

I don't think so, BOTH accounts show open 7/2008 OH YEAH my oldest account was opened in 2000 this is one of my newest accounts.
