I am piggy-backing on a previous post...

 

I have made an offer on a short sale.

The sellers agent keeps saying she bank hasn't given her any information.

 

I am really at the mercy of this agent, as I have no idea what bank it is.

 

In another post the buyer seems to know what bank has the property. How do you find that out?

Does it make sense to call some of the higher-ups?

 

People are trying to buy homes and the banks are dragging their feet.

i did a short sale last month, it went rather quickly and that's because i called the bank ( Your Mortgage Company) they say bank but they mean the mortgage company. And i told them if they did not except the offer on the house that i will be foreclosing and they would loose a lot more than what the offer was for. No lie within two days they faxed all the paper work over to my realtor and said we had to close in a week or we would have to start the process all over again. you have to be stern with these banks. Unless the bank actually owns the house, they can not/will not usually give out any information to a third party. The sellers' realtor is authorized to act on their behalf, so the bank will deal with her.

Also, from what I just learned last week in regard to short sales, they can take months to tell you whether or not your offer was accepted. Go to the mortgage forum and search short sales.
