I have a medical bill that I was paying on $20 a week. The doctor said that was fine. Suddenly my bill went to collections without any warning. They stated I owed $515 when I knew I only had a remainder around $300. I disputed it and got detailed billing back a couple weeks later from the CA. They are also billing a total of $265 for a "preexisting condition". Now I have never been treated or diagnosed with this before and I know it is not a preexisting condition. I had filled out paperwork to dispute this with my insurance company and the doctor said he had taken care of it. Now 2 years later it's in collections and it should not be there.

Since it went to collections who do I dispute it with? Should I call the CA and tell them or the doctor? I am willing to pay what I owe, just not what my insurance should have paid for since it was not preexisting.

If it is on any of your reports, dispute it to the CRA with this ( follow ALL the directions)

At the SAME TIME, whether or not it is on your reports, send the CA this;
