I'm extremely frustrated. I had an account with National City but me and my GF at the time shared another account and my checks were direct dep into that account. So we basically used that account and my account got ignored. at some point I the account got over drafted how I have no idea since I stopped using the account and left it with 20.00 in it One day I checked up on it and it was over drafted to 160.00 So I went to the bank and paid it off. Then closed the account because I obviously was not using it.

Now I'm in check systems and will be for the next 5 years. I now currently bank with national city and they said they will not remove me. even though I left in good standings. I didn't owe them money for very long maybe 10 days.

Is there something I can do? They said I paid the account and that proves it was not bank error. Since it was not bank error they will not remove me.

I would dispute with both chexsystems and the bank. And possibly send a letter to to CEO of National City first that states exactly what you just said here. Also state how unfair this is and how it is completely restricting your banking abilities.

I also feel that now I have no choice but to bank with National City as they gave me an account no questions asked.

It sees like a ploy to force me to bank with them and only them.

yes I agree 100% with you. Being a bank that uses chexsystems and will deny those reported to chexsystems daily, yet they allow you to have an acocunt and report you to chexsystems. It seem as if they are aware that you are no kind of risk but would like to keep your business by keeping you there with them ..maybe add that to your letter
