Hi, I have a medical bill that is on my EX CR from a CA.

No phone number available

Original Creditor:

Medical Place

Address Identification Number: xxxxxxxxxx

Status:

Collection account. $120 past due as of May 2008.

Status Details:

This account is scheduled to continue on record until Aug 2012.

This item was verified on Apr 2008 and remained unchanged.

Date Opened:

11/2005

Type:

Collection

Credit Limit:

$120

Date of Status:

02/2006 Terms:

1 Months High Balance:

NA

Reported Since:

02/2006 Monthly Payment:

$0 Recent Balance:

$120

Last Reported Date:

05/2008 Responsibility:

Individual Recent Payment:

$0

Account History:

Collection as of May 2008, Feb 2006

I had done a online dispute on april 08 whit EX which came back verified. But now its showing as updated on may 08.

My question is is this legit? Or is this what they call reaging? And if it is reaging what recourse do i have if any?

I have had no contact with the CA or OC regarding this account, only the online dispute with EX.

I was pretty new to CB at the time and hadnt found whychats medical dispute advice at that time other wise i would have just followed those instructions.

Thanks in advance!

No, it is NOT "re-aging" although it may show up that way in credit scoring, it is the date of verification by the CA, which is likely done automatically by an "e-oscar" electronic system

Opt out

Get old addresses deleted if possible.

You can wait until 90 days has gone by since your on line dispute and send this;

http://whychat.5u.com/hipaadisp.html

OR

If you are reasonably sure that the date of service is over 4 years ago, and is not from a hospital or ambulance service, you can send the reporting CA this:

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html

and then as soon as you have received the green card back, send this;

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#DISPUTE

Thanks Whychat!

I have Opted out, got one address to go, and it was a hospital bill so im assuming that after the PRE HIPAA MEDICAL DISPUTE LETTER TO CRA gets sent and i get a response then i should follow the steps of the HIPAA letter process to pursue this further if need be correct?

That was my plan originally but I just wanted verification of the re-aging question I had first.
