I'm pretty sure this is in response to my shut out of UCB linky

Today hubby gets a letter from a lawyer that has me rolling!

First of all, it looks as if it was originally on letter head, except that what I received is a copy that was printed on a printer that is 90% out of ink.

It states:

Dear Mr. Carriesue,

I recently tried to contact you. It is important that you call our office immediately. Please ask for Mr. Scumsuckinglizard. You may pay with CHECK BY PHONE when you call and no extra fee will be charged.

IMPORTANT- If you have moved or changed your phone number, please fill out the form below and return.

Then it requests

YOUR NEW ADDRESS AREA CODE & NEW PHONE NUMBER

EMPLOYER ADDRESS EMPLOYER AREA CODE & PHONE NUMBER

Oh yes, I'll fill this sucker out immediately and send it to you. Heck, I'll just add my bank info onto the letter for you, so you can take out as much as you feel fit.

Man.... this one is almost FUN! LOL

Is that their very first letter to you?

YES

Is there a mini-miranda on it?

YES

"This communication is from a debt collector. This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose."

Believe me, that was one of the first things I checked!

Though they don't say who they are collecting for. I don't know if that has to be on here or not.......

Dang! They really get some people!

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would fill this out and send it back.

I'm soooooo not one of them.

ETA: I just posted another thread in regards to this one, because after googling, I'm pretty sure this is a medical collection. I haven't been informed by this letter that it is, but I want to make sure I send just the right letter to ruin his day.

Not to hijack this thread, but umm, is it not a violation when a creditor sends you a bill while in the middle of a dispute? I've gotten some after they were notified of a dispute.

How do I handle?

Oh yeah OP that's a nimrod CA there lol.
