I just want to get my corp listed in 411. Do not want to use cell phone #. Who would be the best to setup a biz #, and then I would just forward that to home number. I really do not even need a biz #, but need to have one to start this biz credit building ;)

TIA !

Not sure what phone company is available in your area, but your best bet is to call them. They should set you up with a line that will ring to what ever number you want it to ring to. No physical line, just a number. I have AT&T and they call it a telebranch line. I have it ring to my cell.

That sounds perfect...Have ATT as well. How much does it cost you? And, I assume it will get listed in 411.

Does anyone know if using a virtual office is a good idea? any thoughts on that would be apreciated, i am considering signing up with ringcetral.com for a virtual phone system.

I have used my home address for both businesses, so far I have not had any problems. Besides the telebranch line, I do also use gotvmail.com, but this is because I also need a 1-800 for my customers. When I know I'm not going to be available to answer the phone, I forward my cell to my gotvmail number. However, my gotvmail number is not in 411.

I signed up for a free grandcentral number and use it for my business. I even have the number reg. with 411 under the business name. So far no problems getting net 30's.

Hrmmm....Ok, I signed up with grandcentral, but it only reserved a # for me and I guess I have to wait ?

And, can u use grandcentral listed under a bizname, and how did u get it listed in 411 ?

This would be the perfect solution for me.

TIA!!

Hey, take a look into Vonage. You do need high speed internet to use Vonage, but i dont see how you could conduct business nowadays without that anyways. Once youve got your number you can list it in 411 and call forward that to any number you want.

The awesome thing about Vonage is that you can login to your account via their website and manage the call forwarding, listen to voicemails on your comp, see all incoming/outgoing calls, etc. Plus if you ever have a problem, you can just call em complain and they'll give you a few months free.

Will do, but does vonage setup a "business name" account. Just need that to list in 411....then I could forward it. I assume vonage reports directly to 411.

Also, after seeing their stockprice hit all time lows yesterday....hope the stay in business

Thanks!

I just signed up with Vonage 2 weeks ago under my Biz name. They offer $49.99/mo for unlimited calls, LD included, along with the other bells and whistles. However, they do not list in 411. Also, when you make a outgoing call your name info won't come up on CID; possibly if you're calling another Vonage customer. Only your number will be listed and for me it says "Out of Area" and then my local number. So you'll have to get listed yourself. I was told by the Vonage rep that technically they/we don't own the line and they lease them from another company.

Also, when I ordered I got one month free with a free fax line and was told I can downgrade at any time. The rep told me that if I wanted I could switch to the unlimited resedintial plan which costs $29.99 a month. So I may do because if the Name info doesn't show on outgoing calls, the only benefit over residential would be the free fax line.

Just my thoughts and experiences, others may differ...

God Bless

Thanks for all the info.

Right now, my best bet seems to be the ATT forwarded line for the $37/mo (and they will list in 411). I really do not need a business phone (I consult with one main company...just have a corp/lp setup for tax purposes and run all my business through), I am just looking for the cheapest way to have one, that can forward, and be listed in 411 is all. I even have an office phone, but that is listed under the company I consult for.

My main goal here, is to establish business credit, and looks like I need the 411 listing to get started is all.

The grandcentral thing looks very interesting, but it is in beta mode right now, and have to wait....and do not know if that can get listed in 411.

Again, thanks for all the information !!

We got a "foreign listing" with Verizon for $1.87 a month, no set up fees or anything else. They put it in 411 in 48 hours and in the white pages. We set up our VOIP first, so we had our office number, then called Verizon and gave them that number. Our business shows up on caller id's. It was very easy and painless, plus we get a monthly bill from Verizon with our Business name on it, to show if needed, as some accounts require seeing a utility bill in the business name.

Our VOIP cost us $21.95 a month, so fairly inexpensive and we have a phone line with a fax line, listed in 411 in 48 hours. Hope this helps!!

We didn't want to use our cell number, nor have a number forwarding to our cell, as that can rack up your minutes really fast. With the VOIP we can go to our account online and forward the calls to the cell if we are traveling and need the calls forwarded.

Negemo,

What service did you use to register your GC number with?

I have about 4 invites left if anyone needs one.

Shawn

50By50....I would love an invite if you got one to spare . I signed up with it, and said it would let me know once out of beta thou.

Thanks !!

You don't have board PM and email priviledges until you reach members status. Use the CB biz credit group on yahoo - that's us, but you can network there with other members.

What is a "foreign " phone listing? How do I go about getting one?

So I don't sound like a total noob on the phone with them, why would someone get this type of listing, how does it work?

THANKS!!
