I just purchased a Cadillac STS today from a dealer. The carfax was clean. While rummaging thru the car i found a window sticker that noted damaged frame. So i called the dealer back and they say no damage. i check autocheck.com( which i learned about from this site) and there it was frame damage. The car rides great. not pulling or any problems yet. only has 20k on in and still under warranty. Taking it to Caddy dealer tmrw to get it checked out. I bought the car for 5k under trade value. They say it should have said frame damage but didnt.

They agreed to take it back but suggested i get it checked out and confirmed that the original wrnty was still valid. If all checks out with Cadillac and the car is fine. That is where my dilemma starts.

My question is, Do i keep the vehicle since it was such a great deal? Do i return it? Do i try to negotiate a btter price or ....? Help.

P.S. I love the car. I thought about asking for a warranty to cover 100k for free. No plans on trading car. gonna keep it to the wheels fall off. If i keep it.

What price would be acceptable for a vehicle that you believe is doomed to fall apart?

Car's have frames anymore, though most were unibody construction?

I guess i would just hate to keep something with the belief that it would be okay and 2 years down the line, it begins to fall apart. Will an extended warranty cover that problem?

The vehicle would need to be inspected first to see if even a service contract might be available.. I dont think service contracts cover items associated with frame damage.

However they cover a multitude of components that can fail.

This may be a stupid question but is it possible that the reason you got such a "great deal" was only because there was frame damage?
