long story short i had 24K in loans... well, it's now 38K... i couldnt afford the 24 grand so i messed up and ignored it, it basically doubled now and i'm lost as to what to do...

here's what i'm really curious about... i work with the boys & girls club, a non profit youth serving organization focusing on at risk and under privileged youth...

i work in southeastern michigan (detroit) but our organization headquarters is in farmington hills... we have 13 clubs and the vast majority of our members (kids) come from inner city homes...

would this qualify for some sort of cancellation?

thank you in advance!

Well for starters, read this forum. There are a lot of options. You didnt state what the status of your loans are...current, deferred, defaulted????

visit this site. you might find something that could be applicable to your situation. I do believe your loan has to be in good standing for forgiveness to work.

It sounds like you may have a shot at it.

You can't tell someone whether or not they have a shot at a loan-specific program without knowing what kind of loans they have.

long story short i had 24K in loans... well, it's now 38K... Have you had these loans in forebearance or have they gone into default? If they are in default, have you been contacted by a CA for the Guarantor yet? i couldnt afford the 24 grand so i messed up and ignored it, it basically doubled now and i'm lost as to what to do... What kind of loans are they? Are they Federally Guaranteed or Private Student Loans? If they are Federally Guaranteed, how much are Stafford Loans and how much are Perkins?

here's what i'm really curious about... i work with the boys & girls club, a non profit youth serving organization focusing on at risk and under privileged youth... Ask your organization if they have anything that can help you with your loans.
