My eq file is clean with them but my ex/tu have some baddies.

My tu has 7 90 day lates from jan 05 and feb 05. My Ex has 5 90 day lates from the same dates. The thing that concerns me is that I have multiple same month lates. My TU and Ex both have 2 lates for each month for jan. Will goodwill letters work with them?

My loans are defered for right now.

wow, I just got off the phone with SM and they told me that I'm current and have never been late with them at all. I told them how I have 9-12 90 day lates throught all three of my reports. He told me to get a copy of each credit report and send it to them and they will look it over. He said they will be removed within 3-5 days once they recieve them. If they delete them all I will have all my reports clean. I can only imagine my score increase for TU/Ex

How did this work out, OP?

When I sent in a copy of my CR after they said that they saw no lates they were somehow able to pull them up. I thought that my forebearance (spelling???) would cover it but it didn't so these lates remain (ONLY on my Experian report though :) ).

We have never had luck with Sallie Mae. They showed my husband as 30/60/90 days late AFTER his loan was transferred to another lender!

We asked them how it could be late when we owed them $0...

We tried disputing it with TU, EQ, and EX. We sent them proof that our balance was $0 before they were marking the reports as late. EQ and EX deleted the late.

TU just updates the info .

It is almost 4 years old now so I dont know how much it hurts anymore... just kind of got tired of fighting it.. maybe I will give it another go.

What number are you guys calling? I have an old SM account that has since been rehabbed, but the SM accounts show lates. Disputing them online with the CRA's ("no lates") actually added more lates, doh!

Rehabbing does not take care of any lates with the lender/servicer. They can and will continue to report for the full 7 years. Upon completion of rehab, only the guarantor is required to report current. Disputing anything with SM, will force them to look deeper and they often come up with lates that they failed to report previously.

Oh, I completely understand that...now. But there are some inaccuracies that could be better handled with a nice CSR imo. I was able to have SM report my TL's as "closed" instead of "derogatory" via online disputes (on 2/3 of the CRAs so far), which I believe helps. I've had some luck in getting my ACS accounts reworked so they now show as positive for the most part - not quite done with them yet.

Also, since I have your attention - my student loans went through three stages - original servicer (SM and ACS), then after default to TX Guaranteed, and now rehabbed through Costep. After rehab all but one of the TX Guaranteed loans was removed - but I still have that one TG account showing on my EQ report. No negative remarks or anything, but should I just let it sit there, or try to get it removed? My feeling is to let it sit, as it's not really hurting anything. I also thought after rehab I would only have one costep TL, but they are reporting 4 (all positive of course). Hmm.

I also believe I have duplicate SM tradelines reporting (2 on the report, for one loan) but haven't looked at it extremely closely since I know they're a bear to deal with and I have bigger fish to fry at the moment.

But they were derogetory...you defaulted.

Upon completion of rehab, the negatives are suppose to be removed....not the tradeline. Your tradeline should be reflecting as current.
