OK, a little while ago I posted about forgetting to pay a $29 payment to the doc. I mailed it off with the final notice. Never cashed it. Instead today I received a letter from the CA with the check in it saying they cannot accept payment because it would not cover the collections fees which bring the balance up to $39.15. If I send the HIPPA letter out to the OC with the original check for the $29 (with the back endorsement of course for the OC only), will this take care of the problem??? Or am I stuck paying the CA?

Thank you!!!

B) Yes,but send a MONEY ORDER with the restrictive endorsement, make SURE you make a copy of the front and the back.

Actually the CA did you a favor.

If they had accepted the check, they would have been able to show your account as having a "partial" payment, and when you paid them the extra, it would be marked as a "paid" collection.

The only reason I sent a check to begin with was because I figured I would make their deadline before they passed it off to a CA. Guess not, huh?!

What if they refuse this next payment being a money order and send it back to me again?? Can I at least get my money back that was put on it? And how do you know they cashed a money order? I hate dealing with medical bills, ugh...Thank you once again!!
