I have a huge debt, any chance I could modify WHYCHATS HIPPA letter, send it to the OC saying:

 

I will pay $500down and 100/mo until payed on a 19k debt????

 

 

Thanks any ideas would be great.

You can TRY to use the insert "a" with the phrase, enclosed please find $xxx as payment of 25% of the balance due, and give some time-table for the balance being paid, HOWEVER, this will NOT prevent the OC from continuing the CA on the account, nor will it prevent the OC from advising the CA that you have made a payment and the new balance is XXX. That will then be updated on your reports, which, as you know, means a "ding" to your scores as it is a RECENT collection activity.

 

What I suggest is this, send the OC the HIPAA letter with insert "a" and this phrase:

Enclosed please find $xxxx ( the maximum you can afford) as payment in full for the services rendered as per the (name of your State)'s medical billing services codes, and (name of ANY insurance company, preferably an HMO) schedule of services.
