I had to go to the ER several times for an injury sustained in a car accident that wasn't my fault. I am having to pay them out of pocket because the lady that hit me does not have insurance. I was reviewing them and the ER docs charges were around 252.00. Well on the last one I got it was over $500.00. Is there anything I can do about this? I mean it seems odd that it would go up so much.

You most likely have two separate bills:

One from the ER Docs, another from the ER/Hospital for the facility itself.

Radiologists bills will also be separate

I would sue the ladie for injurys and damages...

Have you tried contacting an attorney who is "dedicated" to "Auto Accidents" and or "Personal Injury"?

Hope you get well soon.

This was the ER docs bill. That is why I said it was odd that it was so much more than the others. This was his bill alone.

Do you have "UNINSURED MOTORISTS COVERAGE"?

Uninsured motorists coverage pays for your injuries caused by an uninsured driver or, in some states, a hit-and-run driver, in a crash that is not your fault. In some states there is also uninsured motorist coverage for damage to your vehicle. Source: http://www.geico.com/auto/sales/auto_coverage.htm scroll down to #3.

I did a search on google and found this, I hope it helps: http://www.autosubrogation.com/philosophy.htm

Boy I wished I had it. I was in my mother's car at the time and she just had liability because the car was paid off. So basically I am SOL. Thanks for the help though.

double check that becaus emany states require uninsured motorist coverage, just like liability. I know NC & VA require it as combined uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. I think they can't raise your premiums is you have to use it.
