Checking Accounts Sent To Collections

I am just curious as to how I should deal with checking accounts sent to collections. I am trying to get off of check systems. If I deal with the collection agency is that even possible? Should I be dealing with them? The amounts are not very large, so I can pay them off, just curios as to what to do. I have 1 from Chase from 2009 (and its listed as 3 for some reason), and then another from Suntrust from 2011.

 

I do have a checking account presently with BofA.

If you pay them off, they will not remove you from chexsystems and it could cause you to be reported 5 years from the date that it was paid. If it is hurting your credit, you might still want to pay them off... there are good and bad points to both
