Collection showed up for an unknown medical bill. Did Pre-Hippa. Transunion removed, but both Equifax and Experian "verified".

Sent dispute to the CA. Got both green card and response back yesterday - CA sends letter with attached 'statement' dated 2007 from the Dr's office. It was a bill for my stepson. 3 unpaid balances left over from insurance from December 2005. I covered him on my insurance at that time. I NEVER received a bill for any of these balances from this dr's office - in fact, I even ordered glasses twice in 06 from them and they never let me know there was a balance (it was a pediatric optomologist).

Am I still liable for this debt? It's $151. I have half a mind to send them a letter stating that it's not my child, however I'd be more than happy to collect the money from his PARENTS and forward it in exchange for deleting it off my report.

Should I still send the next step dispute to the CRAs since I just got the greencard? Dispute again with the CA? Help!

No I meant to do that, it helps me follow what has been answer and what has not.

This was answer in another post so when I see that I (or Why Chat) was the last poster I usually ignore that post until another question comes up.

I also have a problem with accounts popping up for my stepchildren. I carry their insurance in my name so they automatically think they can bill me for their services. Wrong...

I have had 3 of these in the last 6 months. I simply sent the CA a letter stating that the bill is for my stepchild and I am not responsible. They have all been deleted within 2 weeks of sending the letter.
