Long story short, this is for an 6 year old FNBO account purchased by Midland. I disputed this account off years ago (did not keep paperwork though), and it recently re-appeared on my reports. I disputed with the CB's, and Midland verified every time. So I submiited complaints via BBB. Midland tried to play word games a few times, but each time i responded back citing all the violations. So after about 2 months of BBB game, this is the last response I received from them via BBB before BBB marked the case "closed".

Midland Credit acknowledged startover's dispute, and has ceased collection efforts, annotated the account as disputed, and attempted to verify the debt. As Midland Credit was unable to obtain verfication of the debt, the account has been closed. There will be no further collection activity, credit reporting or sale of this acccount. This will ensure that startover is not contacted again regarding this account.

So did I just win this case? Should I expect deletions in the near future? If it's not deleted in, say 10 days, what would be the most efficient method for me to have this account deleted in one fatal blow?

Thanks!

You did, congrats! Now dispute it will all three CRAs in writing including a copy of that letter. Do not dispute online or on the phone. It should be gone in short order.

Thanks. That's exactly what I'm thinking about and hearing the affirmation from you is like the most wonderful music surrounding my ears.

Now it's time for a couple of good old beers! B)

Anytime you can kick Midland to the curb is a good time.

I should add be carefull with EX and be sure to indicate this is new activity since your last dispute. Be certain to furnish EX that letter, it's the ticket for getting those bottom feeders off EX.
