  1. Ok, I remembered. I need a "DV" letter. I have one, but it isn't a very good one (as far as I can tell). I seem to remember a Sticky Thread on here with example letters to start from; is that still around? If anybody can point me towards a good letter to start with that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. sorry; It was delivered regular mail from a collection company. I def have the 30 day window to demand validation, but I am a bit foggy on how to do this, or what letter(s) to send. I have send letters in the past, but this is the first time I ahve to do a 30 window validation letter. Thanks
  3. Hello all, I have received much great information here in the past couple of years and have greatly increased my credit score throug good spending habits, credit use, and the methods found here. Thanks I just received a bill from a dentist (collection) from a year ago. I don't think that I owe the money (less my insurance didn't pay it). I want to dispute it within the that first 30-day window, but I am a bit foggy on that process. Can anybody point me in the right direction. Thanks so much

  5. Oh, ok. I have seen that section. That is what I was thinking. Thanks
  6. How exactly do you see teh HARD PULLS vs. soft pulls? Thanks
  7. I have been a member of the board for a while getting much support and help. I never wanted to attack the inquiries on th CR until now. How do I bump inquiries? some are legit and I won't try to remove, but some are from CA that were bogus and just plain pulling once a month to hurt my credit on purpose!!! If the tradeline is gone from the puller, can't I just dispute it? thanks for all teh help?
  8. WTF? I just checked my CCT report and there is something that states this in my public record section: Recorder of Deeds: Slow Pay? Where the heck is that form? Sounds like it may be from a mortgage, but I pay that on time since I closed in Feb?? HELP. I need to do an equity loan and this is gonna F it up bad?? Thanks
  9. MY father has a collection account with DVRA but I can't seem to figure out why? He has (or did have) stellar credit? Anybody heard of these guys before? No calls or letters from them as of yer but it says that the account was started back in 4/1/2009. Thanks for the info.
  10. I just found out that I have a public record from the state of NY for a tax bill in the amount of like $250 + interest and penalties for a total of about $400. I contacted them to set upa plan way back in November. Did all of the paperwork, and now I have a public record for that?? WTF Can the state just file a public record without ever serving me? How does that work? Thanks What can I do now?
  11. ok, I have read that 4 weeks is the requirement, but I can't find that in any of the NYS laws? Does anybody happen to know the actual LAw reference so I can read up on it a bit? Thanks again
  12. I believe that it would be in Oneida county. Thanks but I'm not asking what paper it will be in (though it may become helpful if I can't find it). I am asking what is REQUIRED by LAW as far as the advertisement of the foreclosure sale? I want to be sure that it is being done "by the book" here. And I just want to be able to confirm that it is being foreclosed on that date previouly told to me. Thanks again for the help.
  13. HEy thanks. is that pertaining to NYC (and it's burrough's) laws or is that a New York STATE law? I'm trying to find the law referenced in the Laws of NYS but can't seem to find it. Thanks again.
  14. I live in Upstate NY, not near the city. We only have a few different papers that it could be put into. does anybody know the exact law. I ahve been on the NYS Law website but I can't find exactly what it is? Thanks again for any info
  15. I thought that I read thet in NY a foreclosure needs to be placed in a local paper weekly for like 4-6 weeks prior to the sheriff's sale? This sound right? What weere to happen if the bank didn't advertise this properly? Thanks a bunch for the help. I'm trying to help a family member that is scheduled to foreclose end of this month.
