  1. Wow.. it amazes me how my thread about CapOne taking more than 2 weeks to get me my cards, turned into something TOTALLY different..
  2. it's more the fact that they mailed the cards out on the 23rd.. it's now the 7th. I know we call it 'snail mail', but I could have driven to CapOne's HQ, picked them up, and driven back home in less time than this has taken. Cards I apped for AFTER the CapOne have already been received and activated. Just no reason why it should take over two weeks for an envelope to be mailed to anywhere in the continental US anymore. Plus.. the card has an 'offer' to it with a limited time frame.. (purchases within x time = free bonus miles).. they just cut down the time I have to make my purchases and pay them off..
  3. So, I was lucky enough on the 20th of October to get the CapOne Venture One card.. That's where the luck seems to run out.. I received an email on the 23rd that the cards were mailed out, a phone call on the 24th confirming it. Here it is, over 2 weeks later.. and no cards. So I try their 'chat' feature.. and find out my cards were flagged for fraud, but no reason as to why. They then had me call them instead of the chat. No biggie.. They verified my address was correct, and the rep was almost embarrassed that he couldn't tell me why I didn't have my cards yet. One nice thing though, is that he's expediting new cards to me and they *should* be here on Tuesday or Wednesday. Needless to say, if they are not.. a call to the EO is in the future.. sheesh.. what a headache..
  4. I look at it this way.. with a card from HD, how many power tools would a person really buy vs. a Visa card that can be used anywhere?? Less risk to CitiBank for a store-only card.
  5. That's what I kinda figured. The 'inaccuracies' are so minimal it isn't worth it.
  6. Yikes.. I finally had the chance to review my 3 Reports that I downloaded last night. I completely forgot about a Verizon Wireless account that I had paid off, that is sitting on all three of my reports. It's never gone to a CA, and I paid them directly. No biggie, but it's sitting on the report (showing paid). I've completely forgotten how to try and get a paid collection off the report other than letting it age!?!?!?! (paid in April 2014) Do I contact Verizon directly and ask them if they would remove it? (they have no reason to, as it's paid now).. but the actual collection item being on my report is still causing a slight ding in my score.
  7. Well, I went to check and see (once again) if I could combine my cards online.. and the link is gone again. I wonder if they had too many problems with it?
  8. I know and I agree about paying it down. That's why I'm not really that worried about the WalMart CLI at the moment.
  9. that one would be more difficult.. it has around a 75% uti right now... need to figure out the BT offers I may have recently gotten and 'spread the wealth'
  10. Ironically I pulled my free reports this evening AFTER I ran those apps.. Lowes pulled TU.
  11. You might have her try Cap One again (was CapOne in her bankruptcy??? if so, maybe they haven't forgiven her yet??) I know they have been very generous to people with their QuickSilver One card, and even the Venture One card. Maybe try going to their site and doing the pre-approval to see if there is anything there for her to app for?
