Hi all, App'ed on 1/28 after seeing others have success. They asked for personal as well as business info, but did not check personal credit. Didn't call to follow up or anything, got the card today, 2k limit. Biz is CA LLC, 2 years old with 80 Paydex.

Magdela, I just got my letter on Saturday. I'm going to send out DV #2 (with some of Dolemite's fine language) tomorrow to Carruthers and Regent, reminding them that they are salamanders and they still haven't proven to me that I owe the debt. I'll keep you updated on what happens. -

Thanks for the response Dolemite! Indeed it was timely. I've learned much from CB. As you've done welll with this, what's your suggested process for handling? -

Hi all, I figured this was a good time to update you, as I checked the mail today (need some more advice): Another letter from D Scott Carruthers today. I did DV them, CMRR/green card. Never got a response back. Letter today states that I've defaulted on my agreement (US Bank Account) and that Regent Asset Management Solutions (their client) is will to waive "half the accrued interest on the account" blah blah blah... It ends with "If you have not contacted Regent to discuss this settlement offer within 14 day, I will begin preparing your case for a lawsuit to be filed (in my county) by investigating your employment, assets, and banking information. If it isnecessary to have a court enforce this contract, court costs and attorney fees will be added to the amount you owe and the settlement offer will be revoked" This is odd, seeing as in their first letter they mentioned if I contacted them for proof of the debt, they would provide it. They didn't, and now I get another letter. At this point I believe the proper procedure for us CB'ers would be to DV the CA directly, but I'm not sure if I need to do anything else. Thoughts? -
So elites screwing up, ok...average cat like me (7k Blue Cash) logs in today and sees $4600 of my limit gone. I call: "I'm so sorry sir, this came from a periodic review of accounts" Me: "You have to do better than that my dear..." "Well sir, did you just pay off some debt" Me: "Well yes, quite a bit" "That's what I see in my notes. You do realize that paying off debt and having larger available balances could be perceived as a bigger risk." Me: "I'm sorry, what did you just say?" "You do..." Me: "Thank you for your time miss. As I'm sure you know, that makes NO SENSE." I've read it here, and now I know juuuuuuuuuust how awesome AMEX is. Safe to say "It's just business" is something that's going to stick with me a long time.

Hi JB, Thank you for the quick response. I was wondering if Regent might try to sneak this so called collection onto my CR though. I do plan to DV today, just wanted to get an idea of whether Regent is a CA that will report or one of those with no teeth. -
Good morning board, I've received plenty of help here over the past few years and told many friends about our community. We get things done! Question: Got a letter from D. Scott Carruthers yesterday representing Regent Asset Management Solutions on an old US Bank bill. I do owe the debt and don't have an issue paying it, but I wanted to get some feedback from the board. I talked with US Bank to attempt to pay the debt, but they've told me it's no longer on their books and I'd have to deal with the CA in order to pay. I had success doing this with a smaller US Bank debt last year (with a different CA) and they promptly sent me a PDF/never show on CR letter via fax, I paid and it's over. Wonder what the deal is with Regent Asset Management Solutions. Do they report to the bureaus? Time Frame? Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi MCA/All, Thank you so much for your list! Very handy... I opened a checking and savings at this CU yesterday with no problems...they ran a credit check (they use EXP) and no Chexsystems/Telecheck ect. I kept asking the guy questions about the process and he mentioned that a credit score of 600 or better is what you need. In and out in 25 minutes. Thanks again MCA!!
