The lady doing the financial Q&A thing said if your rate gets jacked, you can opt out and have something like 2 years to pay at previous rate. Is this something new? I never herd anything like that before, thought you had to PIF and close, or take the new rate.

I sold a year ago, will I fall through the cracks again?

About to go on app spree for 31 new accounts
mleichtle replied to Life is Grand!'s topic in Mortgages
My $.02 Can you use the property for colateral? A few years ago, I remember, a website where you could get loans from normal average people like me. Well people with money. You had to submit a sob story, then people who liked it would offer alittle bit and a rate, then you kept begging, and maybe you get what ya need. Don't know if its still around. Now my Constructive Comments YOUR EFFEN NUTS! The same thing was said about Ben Franklin, Columbus, and that nutty caveman who spun a round rock on stick. -
I like kiowo's letter, throw some dirt in the envelope for effect.

Charges on stolen credit card were found valid
mleichtle replied to mleichtle's topic in Credit Forum
Correct Jeffmo, When the fraud guy at citi told me it was my card that was used, I was holding it in my hand, while all other cards were gone. But I didn't see any significance at the time. We had just sold are house, so we had plenty of cash, no need to use any credit cards, we took 'em out of our wallets months before all this. Some how my card was missed placed, and didn't get stolen with the rest. -
About 6 months ago There were a couple strange charges on my citi card. At first, I thought dw made the charges. It was about a month later, after I paid the card off, that we realized the cards were missing, and the charges were fraudulent. So we called citi, reported the fraud, closed the account, got new cards, account numbers, the whole nine yards. They sent us copys of the receipts, the sigy isn't even close to either of ours. Thats when we really got creeped out, eeww. Anyway, today I got a letter from citi, they're investigation found the charges valid. I think, well how convenient, given the economic troubles of today. Citi said the charges were made on my card, joint account. I don't sign my card, which I can prove cause I still have said card. So the retailer dropped the ball first. and citi was wrong from the start cause wifes card is missing not mine. Is there anything I can do now? Ask citi to validate they're investigation? I never filed a police report, we have no idea how they got stolen, it happened the same time we were moving, and the charges only add up to $70.

4 or 4.333... weeks in a month?

My scores are all in the 640 to 660 range. reports show 1 paid charge off 1-1/2 years old, 1 unpaid charge off, (wifes) about a year old, I'm autherized user. And 4 small medical collections 2 to 3 years old. A car note in good standing, 6 monthes left. and a few credit cards all good except high balances. Wife's has all the good stuff, and the one unpaid charge off is hers. We sold are old house about 6 months ago, so we have a 20% down payment. While I'm paying down the credit cards without touching the money in the bank. I'd like to pay these derogs, but I'm afraid, if I pay them now and reset the clock they'll drop my scores. At the same time I'm afraid to apply now just cause they're there. If I apply now I can just pay them if they become an issue. What do you recomend?

I don't even remember where it came from, but pretty sure it was morphed from a card in good standing. Their web page is like from a commidor 64, I want to put the phone reciever on the modem. The card has been sock drawered for at least 3 years. Would a underwriter even know what it is? Which, IMO, is a really crappy product. Is there a stigma attached to it? I know it has its place for some, but I'm, happy to say, way beyond that, and would like to stop carrying it on my reports. I'm going for a mortgage next year. Thanks

Thanks much guys, actually I just got a hold of him, finally. They apperently accepted our counter on sat, a day late because "the fax didn't go through" That 1 day thing, is that somewhat normal? It caught me off gaurd, which I know its supposed too. DW and I didn't even get a chance to talk face to face over it. Which was our mistake, we should have taken that time.

an offer was submited late last tuesday, but we didn't hear anything till late wedensday, it was a bit lower than our asking price. Basically our agent sat on it the whole day. It had had a 1 day limit, I don't know the correct termanoligy. My wife and I work opposite shifts and don't see each other till the weekends. So we had to scramble and take time from work to submit a counter offer on thursday that was technally late, it also had a 1 day limit. Thats the last we heard. Friday night a couple showed up for a second showing, with our agent, but he never showed up. We showed the house. We had no knowledge of this showing. Well, a second showing, they seem interested. How would I know if they made an offer? and if they did make a better offer than the first buyer, Can I legally eccept theres if the first buyer did bite on my counter? I'm getting scared that my agent just wants to get payed instead of working for a better offer.

We have deciced to try and sell. I know its a crappy time for this, but the property has gotten to be to much for us to maintain. We signed a 6 month "exclusive right to sell" contract two monthes ago. We did get alot of lookers, but no offers. Now the selling agent wants to lower the price, which I'm ok with. But wifey got a little offended, sentamentally attached to this place. So she went on with her agenda and found that the house wasn't listed anywhere online, the sellers website or the mls, that we can see as non real estate pros. Does this sound normal? We just had a showing last night, so it doesn't make sence to me to have given up on the original asking price with out telling us, especially since the agent came up with that number. It feels like a tactic to squeeze me into selling too fast.

like kidrocket.org or kidsplorer? Any recomendations? I'm using a filter now, but its becomeing quite a pain, making me restart all the time. I'm wondering if a browser like this would work any better.

9/11 I was heading to my parents house after an allnighter at the hospital, dad had a heart attack the night before. I heard the radio talking about a plane hitting a building. When I got to the house, I was calling family members and saw the second plane hit on the tv. As I was watching, grandpa called cause he fell in the bathroom and couldn't get up. The rest of that day is kinda fuzzy.

I made a change, was a designer in construction, was in that for 10 years, now doing welding. Last time I took a serious look, wife was working partime, and our scores were a little lower. Now that I've put in writing I see we are making a lot more money. I think we are right about that 28% right now. But I've been feeling a little strapped, we've had a few emergency type expences. There are some more costly improvements that this property could use. But I'm thinking that future earnings could be better put to use somwhere else, savings and the kids are bugging me about wanting to go to disney land. I'm only interested in the best prime rate, ya know, a 20% down mortgage. And the 28% DTI, cause I'm sick of spending tons of money on house projects. Is paying a contractor an odd goal to strive for?
