Living without a lan line...will need internet and cable
tpbolts replied to uptomyneck's topic in Money Management
I think verizon & AT&T offer 19.95 for DSL (the slowest speed they got) without voice service. What I read in AT&T is they require 12 mo contract. Not sure about Verizon. -
Yeah, good thing they won. They were winning on most/all home games so far. Although winning or loosing, the tailgate party does not seem to get affected Thanks again Shane & CB! We are enjoying the house. Even the dog is loving it.

We closed last Friday! The most stressful part of the closing was trying to get to the title company on time because of the traffic jam from Notre Dame & Michigan game! The closing went smoothly – nothing came as a surprise as Shane has explained the details about the loan ahead of time. He was also was quick responding to question & really was on top of everything through the whole process. I think looking back, the more stressful part was trying to find the house! We recommend Shane to anybody who is trying to get mortgage. He explains the different options of loans (since initially we wanted to build a new house) & all the possible caveats for different options for us – it was really a learning experience for us. We finally went with FHA. And no, he did not ask us to write this recommendation, but we owe him for a job well done. Great job & thank you!

You pay 6.67% (i.e. 1/15th) of the borrowed amount each year for the next 15 years. So if you got back $7500 you would pay back $500 each year for the next 15 years as you say. However, this is a lien on your property so the balance would be paid off at the closing table if you sell, not at tax time. Doug Good to know. Thanks. But the $ 7500 does not need to be repaid in some circumstances - one of them is if you do not make profit on the sale of the house.

Your realtor did not put expiration date? Ours had 24 hrs expiration date.

Thank you for all the inputs & explanation on how it works in Indiana. I think we will leave as it is - my wife has shorter but much cleaner credit - therefore less chance of any lien put on the property.
-
We are in the process of getting approved for FHA. The loan will be on my wife's name only but if possible we would like to have both our names on the title. Is that possible now or do we have to wait until closing & add my name after the whole process is done. We are in Indiana if that matters. Thank you & apology if somebody has asked same quetion. Appreciate if somebody can post a link to the thread.

Got $300 - from $1250 for total $1550 - not bad considering I do not use as much I need the increase as I travel out of the country - they do not charge the foreign transaction fee like others -
Correct also for Amex - Clear

We owed on 2007 return, paid by check on April 17th. Last 2 digits of SSN are 22. We got the letter notifying us about the stimulus check (around May 20th) that the check was scheduled to be issued on May 30th. We got the check on Jun 2nd.

How did you manage that one? Marathon services the gas card themselves...and I think OP was talking about the gas-only cards. When you need something on the Marathan gas-only, you get someone in Findlay, not some Chase drone. My bad. Well...I have the Marathon Mastercard from Chase NOT the consumer Marathon card. It gets you 5% rebate for gas purchases.

I have Marathon - it was re-allocation from existing chase card starting at 500 cl. After the 1st PIF, I asked for addtl 250 - re-allocation from other Chase as I could not get cli with CSR. After the 2nd statement PIF, I asked for cli online - my cl went from 750 to 1500.

Ask the credit card company e.g. if you have Amex in Canada, ask before you move if they can issue US-based Amex based on your file with Amex in Canada. Not sure which other bank might do that but I read that Amex did that before. Never hurts trying. The other possibility is secured credit card.

She has not lost the status - the card is expired but it's extended by means of NOA from USCIS. Only if she did not apply for removal of her conditional status, then she will loose the permanent resident status. And when you apply to remove condition, you do not always get called for interview. I did not have to go to interview.
