  1. I just use them for gasoline every once and a while.
  2. Using them for the mortgage portions, points or down payments? I have seen people do and fail. But all the other stuff that is required in the term of the investing the interm utility bills, the improvements and maintenance are all well within using a card for these. Plus there are no rewards without risk. But any overextention regaurdless of credit card use is risky.
  3. Received the letter from Experian verifying the account. They have a long cover explanation about how Medical accounts are handled. Quite entertaining. Quote including the part they embolden "The consumer Financial Protection Bureau (the government agency charged with enforcement of the FCRA) does not require that the consumer credit reporting company obtain documentation such as the actual signed sales slips, signature cards, contracts, ect.; nor does it require that consumer credit reporting agencies act as mediators or negotiators in account disputes." Now that I have both responses in a trip to the post office is planned. Validation letter first, then the follow up dispute to CRA. Now one question I have. Do I wait for the CA to receive the new validation letter then send the updated Dispute to CRA or send both same time? Probably a tiny detail but best to be sure.
  4. Hmmm, I will have to hit that one next with that. It was discharged in BK and I was never served. I was informed by the county it was in that you have to be present to motion to vacate so and that being 2500 miles away over an ocean or through another country would make it difficult.
  5. Right on. Appreciate the feedback. I will get them going and ready. I have the certified mail slips ready to go so this will be a simple task. Everything is flawless since BK now besides this. My TU is a beautiful read now in just a short time it will be over 700 I'm sure. I know the others will spike high as well since they don't list the judgement included in BK on them like TU does either so things will be very good. The battle since 2006 is almost finished. It is the home stretch. One last KO on TKO for this on EX and EQ.
  6. Equifax just gave me notice that they "verified" from original source. The status was updated as Paid. Date just refreshed to this month. Still waiting on Experian. Funny thing is it didn't show up this time on my report monitoring with USAA on the Equifax tab. Had me a bit prematurely excited.
  7. Denali907 you must be a local to me of the 907. I have been successful with the program. Still waiting on the results from 2 but one CRA deleted already.
  8. Transunion deleted it. My TU score went from 625 to 690 over the process. Still waiting on Exp and Eq
  9. So recap, Initial Hippa letter insert A sent, 08/05/2013 Received, 08/08/2013 Cashiers check reconciled 08/15/2013 Collection updated status as closed. No note of paid, or anything else, just Closed....08/18/2013 Follow up letters sent to OC and CRAs on via CMRR 08/23/2013 So looking pretty good so fa.r
  10. Follow up letters being sent tomorrow.
  11. The Cashiers check was cleared. Bank said they can't tell who deposited it but that it was Reconcilled. We should be getting something by mail soon.
  12. Well we got told no to the mortgage twice so far. But we do have hope, if this falls off and a medical collection I am working on then it is doable. Darn type of work I do makes jobs short in duration. So they get conflictions with employment. But with construction when it is built... it is done. Next build, next company. SO they want there to be no flaws. Yes BBB was a tool I used, but I contacted the EO directly first. I was told to post it on there. Then they could have the authority to correct to maintain their rating. Most BBB disputes won't work because they say they delay an extra 30 days to report. They say when they post 30 past due you were truely suppose to be 60. Don't use BBB expecting it to work unless you have spoken with Executive Office. But getting there is a tough one getting transferred over and over and getting names down for the next level and call backs waiting. They were asking me "Does one 30 day late really do that much damage?" I had to reiterate that Post BK it really does a lot of damage and hurts me trying to keep my scores reasonable.
  13. Well to follow up on this. My persistance paid off. I knew I was NOT in the wrong. I pushed hard. And it did take time. Over 1 year from the incident. Private information omitted. On August 07, 2013, the business provided the following information: So finally I got a result from the facts. Make sure you follow up. I just got the credit report.... funny thing I never noticed till I received more hard copies. Balance reported was 56, Paid was 60, amt due was 65. Weird how a balance of 56 could have an amount due of 65. You must follow through and be true. CALL, CALL and CALL. Write down the calls as well and their time, names are important. Calling is important as it consistantly notates your account and is important when going to higher levels. They will check these and see these as tracks. They do keep call logs and recordings. Those saved me in this case as well. In my dispute direct to Kay I also emphasised that the circumstances really were neither Kay nor My fault. This helped to keep the defense mechanism down on their side. I did have excellent payment history to back me up. Flawless 2 years of 65 per month. So why would that faulter for 26? I never lied. NEVER. This was an honest situation that was wrong. When you are called for a late and make the payment Request and get agreement with the representitive that there will be no negatives, that you cherish your credit and so forth. You must make the payment right then. Otherwise you are officially late and then it would go to 60 days, 90 day and we know that is non productive. Get the agreement over the phone, many of the representatives will be nice and agree. DO NOT answer the calls from the numbers calling you. Call direct to them. The numbers of the contractors who call for the collections departments are insensitive and demining in their attitude and will not give you any information to help. The direct customer service is much better and polite. Despite unknowing their abilities and rights as creditors there are (mostly) good people behind the customer service. So here is one for the win catagory towards preserving my credit. From an unfortunate circumstance.
  14. The OC received it. Just waiting for now.
  15. Certain collections take pride in their BBB status and they get the companies to assign them debt because of that status. So they take it seriously. Like CCS in MA. Most others... could care less of BBB.
