  1. As noted before, there are several different email formats. I have found references to the following (all @us.hsbc.com) - firstnamemiddleinitiallastname - firstinitiallastname - firstnamelastname (this seems to be the most common in my searches) - firstname.middleinitial.lastname (this seems to be 2nd most common)
  2. What do you need this computer to be able to do? If your needs are simple, I may be able to help you out.
  3. I received 2 letters from Chase today regarding my 2 credit cards and wanted to see if anyone else may have received the same ones. Now, I pay my credit cards in full every month, but the letter I received stated (summarizing) "Congratulations, you now have 5 extra days to pay your Chase credit card." Am I totally missing something here, or is it part of the new rules that take effect in 2010? Did anyone else get this letter? Just struck me as odd.
  4. And yet, 3.17 in town.
  5. Probably to get you hooked like drug dealers do to their clients.
  6. Honestly, I haven't applied for credit in over a year and this is the first time I had ever checked my FICO score. A couple of weeks ago, Wachovia called me (since I have one of my personal accounts there and my business account) and basically begged me to come get a credit card, a business line of credit, overdraft protection... anything. Since things are really starting to pick up on the business side, I relented and did go in to apply for overdraft protection (which is something that I couldn't see happening), but they actually sent me a credit card instead for some reason. It's ok as it's sockdrawered after being activated. My house ARM does reset next August and while I can certainly afford the increase (if it *does* increase) I am now starting to get re-finance letters from all kinds of organizations. I suppose I'll keep an eye out and probably use the good score to try and get the best rate if I decide to go that path. One other thing, following the lead of some other CB members, I did call one of my credit card companies and ask for a Credit Line Increase. What was interesting is that they didn't say "ok, we will bump you up to $xx,xxx," they said "What would you like your Credit Line to be?" I mentioned a RBN (really big number) and they just said "Ok, it's done. Anything else I can help you with?"
  7. Meh, sorry. I didn't check for previous threads since, like you, I figured to get it up quickly so that CB members could take advantage of it.
  8. Swiped from Slickdeals.net http://www.equifax.com/freeficoscore/ Free FICO score for the first 10000 people to use it.
  9. I thought the Yuan was fixed to the dollar? No, it isn't. It's fixed to a basket of currencies. http://money.cnn.com/2005/07/21/news/inter...nal/china_yuan/
  10. I have diversified part of my dollar holdings into foreign currencies through Everbank, specifically, the Chinese Yuan. Note that the account pays no interest, but your gains/losses come from the fluctuations of the currency only. This year, as of Friday, the Yuan has appreciated ~6.6% against the dollar.
  11. There are probably several threads on it, but the one that I recall mostly was titled something like "Gotta love Google. My new strategy" or something very similar to that. I know I posted several in there. Good luck.
  12. Domo Arigato, Mr. Robago? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  13. I'm not sure you searched well. I put "First Savings Credit Card" (sans quotation marks) in Google and there were a ton of links that came out. (If you aren't getting any results, try turning your SafeSearch off.) Seems to be a ripoff from what I read. Try here, as well: http://firstsavingscc.com/
