  1. I read about this yesterday. Saw a website about it and the phone number given on the post card. So I called and lied, saying I had received a post card. They said it didnt show up in the system, but would send me something in the mail in 7-10 days. I think they send to those that have had a card for over a year. Only had mine since July. The # is 866-611-1148. Get with customer service and give it a try. Cant hurt.
  2. After waiting a few months to look at my reports again, signed up for a free 30 trial today. To my surprise, Experian dropped a public record that wasnt due to drop off until 01/2010. I have read from many of you on here, stating that it usually stays on a month beyond the scheduled drop off. The address tied to it, which I always tried to dispute, is still there, and that public record was the only thing linking me to it. They must have just dropped it. Im thinking I'll wait a month before disputing the address, just in case it wakes them up, and the public record goes back on till the scheduled drop off. Since I have a feeling they just dropped it in the last few days. This was my last major hurdle. That public record was the very last bad thing to battle. Experian just wouldnt budge. I now have good to excellent credit again. Still need some more history, but im in the 700 club all the way now with all 3. 789 for EQ, 740 with EX, and 720 with TU. Less than a year ago, I was 0 with TU and EX and didnt even exist on EQ. Got all addresses and public record off of TU. All old addresses with EX except for the one tied to the public record. Became an AU on a high limit long history card that brought me back to life on EQ, applied for 2 cards that pulled EQ only, which now report to TU and EX. That was my strategy. Thank you Credit Board. Could not have done this without you, and moved way beyond my wildest dreams in less than a year. Started repairing in late January 2009. Woo Hoo!!!!!
  3. If you look good on EQ, go for Lowes. Thats what they pull. Do it in person at the store too. The online application is not reliable with them. I tried that first, got the "we will let you know" thing. They never let me know. So called up with my reference number. They couldnt find it. So did it in the store instead and got a 3500 limit. My EQ score at that time was 750 with just an authorized user account showing on EQ and nothing else.
  4. After I posted that, I thought I'd check to see if I could get in, since I did this a few days ago. Now they wont let me in. Guess they found out I sneaked in. Odd, since now, my last updated report was from July 28 2009 and now less than 90 days old. LOL. salamanders they are!!! The report number I used was from early March.
  5. I meant to post this a few days ago. I was able to get in the back door with Experian by using my last report number that was almost 5 months old. It says on their site that it cant be older than 90 days. But Walaaa, I made it in with that older report number. Nice way to get in the back door for free
  6. In my experience, Transunion had no problem deleting any address I asked them to. I did it online and it was very quick. Experian deleted most except one tied to a bogus judgment. EQ I'm not sure about because at the time I did this, I didnt even exist with them. This was in the beginning of this year. But got a lot accomplished in a very short period of time by disputing online. Many on here have a thing about disputing online vs. sending by mail. But with Experian, I still feel that even if I sent letters, they would still be playing hard ball. You just have to go with your gut . Thats what I did and 95% of the time, online disputing worked fine for me. Just watch out for Experian if the address is tied to a Tradeline..
  7. Its been said on here and from what I've seen stated as 2 years. And that is for federal rules.
  8. ????? We were being lighthearted George. Why do you have to be that way? I've seen far more stabbing insults hurled at you than that. Thanks for your very keen insightful response.
  9. Since that last post and credit karma showing me at 655 for TU, once i paid my lowes bill in full, rose it 10 points to 665. So today, since it has been close to 2 months after getting the Lowes card, decided to go to Walmart to get the Discover card, since they supposedly pull EQ, my best score. I ended up being given a Walmart Card instead of the Walmart Discover. Was approved for 1500. I called the number to ask why I didnt get the Discover. They said after 6 months, it would graduate to that. So I check my credit karma tonight, and it rose to 711. Keep in mind when I use credit karma, it only gives me the TU score. So I'm wondering now, if thats who they pulled. I will know soon enough. Cant complain. Still have come a long way in a short period of time. I"ll try for another bank card by the end of the year. Dont want anymore inquiries, which are now 2. Sort of defeat and a victory. No bank card, but now, in the 700 club for TU.
  10. Thanks for the congrats. George is kinda a downer. But Im sure he means well.
  11. I had one last baddie on Transunion. Some old collection from a phone bill from 2004. So after reading about SOL in regards to phone bills, I did an online dispute on Thursday. So I check my email today, and they had sent me the results Sunday at 6 am. Deleted. Only took 3 days. I didnt think they worked on the weekends. It raised my score 50 points according to Credit Karma. I"m amazed how far I have come in 5 months after reading this board for a long time. When I pulled my scores in early Feb, I was zero on all 3. I couldnt even get a credit report from EQ because I just didnt exist credit wise. Had my Mom add me as an AU and suddenly I existed on EQ. And since it was the only thing that showed on the report, I had a 750 score. So I made sure I applied to Lowe's, which pulls EQ. I get approved with a $3500 limit. Which now reports to the other 2. Im now at 655 with TU as of today. I lucked out with the EQ thing which got my foot in the door. The Au account doesnt show up on TU or EX. But the fact that it did show up on EQ saved my butt. Couldnt have pulled it off without this Credit Board. Now I dont have to worry about a TU pull. Just EX. But my last bad thing that they refuse to delete falls off at the end of the year. So I'm almost home free. From zero to this in 5 months just blows my mind. Being very careful, and will apply for a bank credit card in about 2 months. Then let it rest for awhile.
  12. I have been cash only for years. After reviewing my credit in recent times, I had a very thin file, with baddies. For some reason, I didnt exist on Equifax. For reasons unknown. I"ve had good luck with deleting most of the baddies with the other 2 agencies. But I was dead to Equifax. So in January, researched the authorized user theory. Had myself added to my Mom's Visa with a very high limit, long history, and excellent payment history. So while it doesnt show up on TU or EX, it brought me back to life with EQ. It's the only one that does show. And has my address as hers. And gives me a 754 score. So I wanted a card with a place that did EQ only. So tried for Lowes. They are well known for that. Applied online 2 months ago. The instore Lowes card. They gave me a reference # and said they would reply in 7-10 days. Never heard back. So I assumed the worst. Called on Friday to find out what had happened. The credit center for Lowes couldnt find my application. Told me to just apply instore. So tonight I did just that. Very nervous. Expecting a decline or $300 limit at best. To my surprise, they gave me a $3500 limit. Just for having that one mention on my EQ credit report with an authorized user. Again, that authorized user thing is the only thing on my report with EQ other than the inquiry in March when I first applied. Still in a happy state of shock here. Beyond what I had expected. Now this will report to all 3 and raise my score's. Then I will wait till August, apply for a bank card, hopefully be approved, and keep it at that for a very long time other than a car or house loan down the road.
  13. Found this interesting. Signed up for a free 30 credit monitoring with Identity Guard. When you click on the tab for disputing with any of the CRA's, it gives full address and phone #'s for Equifax and Transunion. But for Experian, it says, "Experian does not except disputes by mail or telephone. Online dispute only!!! Is this a new thing or a mistake that Identity Guard made when displaying contact info? Im sure Experian would love us to think we could only do online disputes with them.
  14. Hhhhmmm. So if one were to change their current address with Experian to a Canadian address? Interesting thought. Would be interesting to see if all vanished.
  15. The BOA card I was added to finally showed up on EQ. Hasnt shown up on the other 2 yet. Interesting thing about it showing up on EQ. I basically didnt exist with them. I couldnt get a free report because they had nothing on me. So now AU account shows up, the only thing that does show up, giving my address the same as the card holders. And I had a 747 score with them to boot. Just for being an AU on the only item that shows up for me on EQ. I was shocked. From 0 to 747. I was able to see all this from a free trial of a credit monitoring site. Figured because of that, Id try for a Lowes card. Since they are known for pulling EQ only. And if that works, it will improve my score with the other 2.
