  1. Perfect that's what I was thinking. Thank you all for your help!
  2. Hi there- Long time member and I am helping a co worker with an lien he has with PRA/Capital One. He was served in Oct 2019- got a default judgement in Oct 2019. Amount of lien is $1911.94, Received a letter this week from attorney Scott and Associates offering $1147.16. State is SC. He was properly served but didn't know to respond and got the default judgement. My question is if he offers and they agree to 25% of balance will they release the lien if that is part of negotiation? Thank you all!
  3. They pulled EQ for me -opened about 2 months ago.
  4. Update- I spoke with an attorney and sent him my documentation. He filed a suit in March and today got a call saying they offered to settle for $3k. My attorney finally got in touch with their legal counsel - He also said Midwest is not doing well financially and needed until July 31 to pay LOL.

  7. Did you have this when it was Springleaf? I had an old Springleaf account that was CO. It changed to OneMain on my report recently. I disputed it and it ended up being updated to PIF with never late....
  8. Thanks I have requested hard copies. When they initially called me I said I have no knowledge of what you are talking about. Please send me something in writing. They refused and said we don't have to...Uh yea you do. SMH. Right now it's principle and I am sure it will come off the report.
  9. As far as the SOL matter is concerned, that has no bearing on how long an item can report on your credit. Those are two different concepts. Yes I am aware of that. I am pissed at their practices- refusing to even send dunning letter within initial contact.
  10. OMG I am livid these people have done the same to me!! My report is nearly clean and then last month I get a call basically saying they are putting it on my credit report and I said send me something in writing. Mind you it is something that I have no knowledge of AND it is from 2012 and SOL is 3 years in my state. I checked report today and it is on there. I am calling an attorney today and filed report with CFPB and sending them a letter today.
  11. I am in the same boat. Called multiple times . One day I will get it removed.
  12. Good information. I am helping a friend and she has a very similar issue with Portfolio. It was sold to them too. I am going to keep pushing them. They have only sent some statements and a statement saying they bought it from CrapOne.
