Sorry - posting this here from the main forum at a user's suggestion. Keep forgetting that I can't copy/paste here without my browser messing up the text... Apologies! Four separate medical collections, two different agencies. I have had enough with this monster on my shoulders. This is my first step in conquering my credit. I've read all of the beginner's documentation and there are just so many exceptions... I wanted to talk it out with you fine folks to get some specific feedback. Please let me know if I'm doing anything incorrectly or against the rules. With that said, I have all three of my reports and have gathered absolutely all of the data into a spreadsheet to keep track of that what/where/when/whos, etc... in my brain, it seems to make sense that I should attack what is farthest from falling off FIRST. There are four recent (under a year ago) accounts that have gone into collections. All of them are medical bills. All of them are legitimate. Three are with the same agency ($66, $70, $150) and the other is with a different agency ($325). These aren't exorbitant dollar amounts... but I know from reading here that if I just pay them, they will turn into "Paid, Collection" or something to that effect. I would love to have these removed, especially considering their age and amount. What would my first step be? Many thanks in advance!

Thanks, SBA. I'll post my question there as well, but I figured since I'm not disputing these as fact it wouldn't make a difference. Also, I wanted to make sure that going with these first made the most sense. I'm kind of in sensory overload with all of this. There's just so much information (and conflicting information). Every time I think I have a handle on the process, I'll read a new post that says BEWARE, DON"T DO WHAT YOU JUST READ IN THE LAST POST. -
Hah, well I'm just curious from a lender's standpoint why this would be given the green light, because I've been thinking that the only way to get into a vehicle at this point would be to just walk in there with cash. I can't get a $300 credit line increased... I couldn't imagine anyone approving a loan for a car. I guess I'm just naive when it comes to car loans and the process.
-
With all of those collection accounts, poor scores and late payments on my one installment account, why would this still be approved? Just curious... I'm gearing up to replace my 2003 Mitsubishi and I'm scared to death.

Yes, motorcycle loan for $11,008. Paid in full, status is "Paid. Closed." but EQ = 6 x 30DAY LATE + 1 x 60DAY LATE, EX & TU = 4 x 30DAY LATE
