I found this board about a week and a half ago though a link on MSN.

About 2 years ago I unexpectedly lost my job when the company that I had been with for 17 years decided to relocate. I went through a divorce at the same time and watched my FICO scores plummet to around 535. I've rebounded and my scores are slowly but surely coming back up (around 664 now).

I would like to sell my home and purchase another one sometime next Spring or early Summer.

While trying to find out if is possible to remove a few lates and one paid charge off from my report, I came upon Lexington's website, and found this board while I was trying to do some research on them.

Relieved that I found this board before I signed on with them is an understatement.

I'm amazed at the amount of intelligence, compassion and support that is shown by the posters on this board. What a great group of people.

For now, I'm reading all that I can in the mortgage and the credit forums so that when I am ready to put the house up for sale and go for the new mortgage, I'll be considered a good candidate.

So in a million words or less, that's how I found this board.

googling 'credit repair'

I can't remember, but I'm glad I did. I checked in a couple times a day for the whole three years of my chapter13 bk so that when I got my discharge I would be ready to apply for a mortgage. I am typing this from my new home 10 months post discharge even though mortgage was approved 1 month after discharge. Got 100% 80/20 loan at 6.75 first and 11.25 second. Already ready to refinance as soon as financially possible. These rates are only good for three years on first. Probably wasn't the best loan, but it went over without any problems thanks to this place.

:D HI

I found this board because it was recommended on a board I have been frequenting for the last few months about RE Investing. People ask all the time about how to solve credit issues and members post a link to this board. That board is TCI(The Creative Investor)

I can see that I will be spending time here, too, as my fico scores have been declining since I used too many good offers and helocs to buy investment real estate in the last 2.5 years.

So thanks in advance for all of the help that you will share with me!

:grin::grin: I found this message board while endlessly searching for information on the real 'How to's?' of credit cleaning ! We are trying to get approved for a mortgage, and after making the mistakes of settling with 2 credit card co.[ Cross Country Bank -whom I hate! and Catpital One- whom I am less then thrilled with! I wish I would have found you last year, because now I am in a predicament :rofl::) I have two children under twleve, and we have to move in 60 days with credit scores at a horrible low of TU-514,EQ-528,EX-536.

The worst being a repossion from Summit Bank for a repossesion of a used car [our 1st car] for the amount of:

$10,782 ,Date Opened June, 1998

Date of Last Activity March, 1999

Date Paid Out Not on Record

Date Closed September, 1998

Loan Type Automobile

Collateral- car

Description Profit and loss writeoff

Then there is this from our first apartment when we were young:

USA ENT COLL

Individual Account

Date Assigned November, 1998

Date Reported January, 2005

Amount $1,381

Balance $1,331

Date Paid Out Not on Record

Date Closed Not on Record

I have been reading for several nights this past week til dawn-literally, and have a foundation for what is the right course of action first-VALIDATION!!! I am now nervous to begin writing the actual letters in the event that I choose the wrong version, or not necessarily the greatest I could have made. Get where I am going with this? lol...I made a mistake in October, and November of 2004 when I paid the 2 CCD acounts- Cap1 and CCB

I realize 3 months is the Realistic goal, but I thought with my obsession, and some of your godly advice from what I can tell second to none from everything I have read.... this is operated from quite a few amazingly diverse and hysterical individuals who seemed to have created the ultimate work group dedicated to changing peoples lives. So I am asking for a little personal direction for better ideas to pursue. I hope I haven't disclosed to much persoanl information as I left the acct numbers out.

Sincerely,

Lacey

Can you please share with me your Cross Country experience. They are like all the "plagues" ever declared upon the earth. I have the name Cross Country! I too made the mistake of getting "a card" - and I use that term directly "a card" - I didn't charge crap with them and I asked them to close out the account immediately when I noticed their unfair "charge?!" practices. Bottom line, you are paying hundreds of dollars for a piece of plastic. Cross Country needs to be SHUT DOWN permanently.

I was referred by someone at another board I participate on. We are moving from GA to CA very soon (military) and want to purchase a house in the San Diego area. Currently we have a home in GA using DH VA loan and the task at hand seems daunting :(
