Hello everyone. This is my first post and first day on Credit Boards. I am currently searching a credit card to strengthen my credit. I am a 636 on Exp and 645 on EQ and 635 on TU. I have no lates or any derog info on any credit report. Any ideas on which cards to apply for? I have a BestBuy-1800, Disc- 1800, First Premier-250, Paypal-180. Only downfall is I have them almost all maxed out. Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

On another note, my DH is in the process of rebuilding his credit and today he qualified for an Orchard CC thanks to your help here.

Welcome to CreditBoards! We hope that you find what you're looking for here.

Some helpful tips:

  • Your post may not get a reply right away. Don't be discouraged, this is a very busy board. If it falls off of the first page, feel free
to reply to your post yourself, with the word *bump* in the text. This will *bump* your post back up to the top of the board.
  • If you haven't yet, take a peek at out Newbies Section.
Everything that you need to know is in that forum, for the most part! It's a lot of reading, we know, but this credit stuff can have a steep learning curve. In no time, you'll be posting like the pros!
  • If you find that someone is discourteous to you, use the REPORT button at the bottom of every post - that will ensure that a moderator or admin looks at the post and decides if it is against the TOS.
  • Off -topic posts should go in the General Forum.

Again, welcome to the CreditBoards family!

welcome to CB!

before applying for more cards you should work on reducing your utilization (ratio of balances to limits) on your current cards. Two simultaneous strategies for this: 1) pay down the balances (pay highest APR card first) and 2) ask for credit limit increases.
