Called into amazon revolving next. Only had the account for 5 months. Current line of 5000.00. Asked for 10000. Denied. She was very nice and basicly said since I was revolving the account and not paying at least 75% of the balance every time that it would be harder to get the increase I was looking for even though I had been making way over the minimum payment (600 on a 2600 balance)
Figured I'd let you guys know so hopefully it could help someone out there looking for the same thing I was.....

I Originally got both lowes accounts about 6 or 7 months ago. Both cards started out at 1500.00. I applied for an increase about 2 months ago on the business revolving and was shot down. Called in for a recon and was shot down. I tried again today for the same account and asked for a total line of 5000. Approved! I asked if I could apply for an increase for the net 30 account... Asked for a total of 7000 (Since I had just been approved for a total of 5 with the other card) and receved a counter offer of 3500 total credit line.

Good information. Which GE account you feel is the easiest to get when starting out? Lowes (Net 30), Amazon?
Congrats on the CL increase. As far as Amazon, I would pay down the balance entirely and then request a line increase. That should do it. Good luck.

I feel that the Amazon account is easier. I don't really have a reason though so I don't think my opinion will hold much weight.........lol. The balance on the amazon account is paid off finially, But i'm not sure if I can re-Apply for a CLI so soon. I think I may have to weight another 4-6 months. I think I will just wait. With the CLI's from GE it seems that a cli was no problem with them with only small purchases (Usually the balance was under 100.00 on the statements) but CITI had a lot more questions as to why I needed a cli. GE was just like ok we got that approved.

just recently got my paypal mastercard from 2500 to 4600 in a little over 3 months
and my chevron from 550 to 750 ( hey ill take it lol)
i think if you pay ge on time and ever month pay the whole balance , they actually show more love than all other major banks/companies

GE never denies you. That's awesome. You should apply for Sams Club and Walmart.

In their mind balances that are paid off quickly are less likely to default and in these tough economy, creditors are looking for ways to minimize their risks.
I think it is great you are paying far more than the minimum payment.

GE declined me for their Sams Club in store credit account. Not sure why, I'm waiting for the denial letter. My credit files are pretty solid with 10+ trades showing on all. high trades of 10k and up. High credit scores across the board. However, GE did just approve me for the Lowes Commercial billing account ($2,400 CL) a couple of weeks ago. I already have Amazon revolving 5k CL.
The Walmart cards have always been tough to get for some reason.

Oh, I forgot 1. I also have JC Penny which is underwritten by GE too. Once I get Sams Club & Walmart I'll be all in with GE.

Sams - 2000-5000
Lowes A/R - 3500-5000
Lowes B/A - 5000-5500
Never carry balances. Monthly purchases with these are around 600-900. Which is why i seem to be stuck at around 5000 with GE.

She got an increase on lowes. She then applied for Sams they couldn't verify info in stores. GE called her asking for addition info (articles of corp and her lease.) While in this process THEY BLOCKED all of her GE CARDS until futher notice!!! She has sent in her info.. who know what they are going to do!
WANTED to give a HEAD UP!!!!!!!
