washington mutual - - does it give secured credit cards?

I've heard about this bank. Does it pull EQ? Does it have a secured credit card program that goes to an unsecured one? If anyone has any info on this bank let me know........

Washington Mutual does have secured cards and with secured cards they don't pull your credit report but report to all three CRA's. The lowest amount for a secured card is $300.00. After 6 months they review your account and if it is in good standing they will most likely change the secured to unsecured.

Here it is. There's a box on the left side of the screen to select your state. In my state you can't apply for a cc online, has to be in person or on the phone. Since I know I'm going to be turned down, that would be just way too embarrassing. :oops:

Yeeks, I really would be turned down. Here's one of the rules in my state for a secured card. GUess I can completely forget about ever getting a prime card from them since I have a bk.

 

You can be approved if you're a permanent U.S. resident, are 18 years old with a valid Social Security number, and are up-to-date on all existing accounts including taxes. Any judgments must be discharged and you should never have filed for bankruptcy.

WaMu credit cards are issued by Associates/Citibank. I got a secured card from WaMu last year with a five-year-old bankruptcy and several charge offs. It hasn't converted to unsecured yet (I have credit issues!), but it has been a great card for a secured card. Just $35 per year but 15% interest. And online account management is excellent.

I got approved for the WaMu secured card just one month after being declined for a Chase secured, so it may be easier to get than others from the prime guys.
