My partner just applied for a Barlays US Airways Business Card. She has stellar credit in the 700's and though she applied over the phone, the representative told her that it would still take 7-10 business days to process the application.

Does anyone know if this is standard process or is this a denial of the card? We need to get credit fast for this company, and we're thinking of the easiest cards to get based on credit score alone.

This card is based 100% on personal credit. Barclays does not even pull business reports. I had applied a while ago and was denied because I already had a personal Barclays card. I said but this is for my business and the analyst said it just has a business name on it but it based 100% on your personal credit and we do not even look at your business reports.

They still asked for an EIN though. Does the application process still take 7-10 business days or is this a sign of a denial?

Yes, They ask for it but the Analyst clearly said they dont pull it. The 7-10 day was a decline for me. When I signed up for my personal card through them a few months back it was an instant approval. Give them a call and find out.

We just applied a month ago with my partners 804 credit score and got the same messge and then a denial. Called back and asked for a reconsideration and got a $7,500 credit line, asked for more while on the phone with the UW/anaylst and he upped it to $10,000.

Just be carefu,l we started using the card the day it arrived and ended up fighting for 10 days with constant faud alerts and blocks being placed on the card. We'd call in and get the charges approved, they remove the bloc,k and then the next time we used the card even the same day they would flag again. They finally said that the account need to be verified and it took 5 days for them to unblock the account. No real explanation was given just that they had to review the account. It was just cleared up a day or two ago and again no explanation was given.

So my recomendation is to call and ask for an approval update, if denied ask for a reconsideration. If the personal credit and utilization is good you should get something.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. We just got a denial letter online. I think I'm going to have her call tomorrow for a reconsideration. She has two home mortgages and low utilization on her cards, so I hope we get something good. This card doesnt report to personal, correct? That's the whole purpose of the card, for us, is to hide debt and keep it with the company.

I appreciate your input.

Start by applying for a biz card with US Bank. They are relativly easy. They pull experian. Make sure you only have 2-3 inquires max in last 6 months.
