  1. Your totally correct, need to be specific and not just blanket generic disputes. Wish I had known that years ago before I did it! In these specific instances, Yes these are OC reporting Charged Off accounts that were not sold or transferred. Would you then follow the strategy for Texas DVs that has been discussed on the boards? Is there a link to a specific approach I should try?
  2. Yes, thank you I am aware. The reason for my emphasis was to point out how old they are, well over 4yrs, and that I can dispute them without fear of being sued. Do you have any suggestions?
  3. I am a Texas resident and have 3 accounts that are past the SOL but the OC is still showing a Past Due balance and reporting it every month. All three OCs have not sold the debt off and are still the OCs. Because of this I think it is hurting my scores a lot more than other old debts that haven't reported anything in the past few years. Accounts are with NFCU Credit Card, Conns Credit Installment Loan, and SYNCB/SMRTCN (Synchrony Bank/PayPal). What should I do? Should I dispute and if so what tactic and letters should I use since these are OCs and not CAs? They are past the Texas SOL. I have disputed these is the past with basic dispute letters but nothing has been removed just verified.
  4. To update everyone, I traded in the 2011 Ford F150 and was approved for a $45,000 loan at 10% by Chrysler Financial for a new 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. Thanks!
  5. Thanks Marv, I have equity in a second car, 2011 F150 FX2, probably $4-$6k equity on trade. Do you think I am better off trading both in to offset the upside down position and then turning around and buying 2 cars at once?

  7. I setup an iupdate profile yesterday, very simple and finally a seemingly efficient system, lets you do all the updating and even disputing in a simple process. Here is the big catch, they are using some sort of credit based identification search on the owner. That means when you create the profile even without your SSN they are verifing your identity and cross referencing you with the bureaus and any other DnB numbers you have. As I understand it they are doing this to keep people with multiple businesses tied together. That way if you have one business that fails they can tie it to your new business. So be careful, they are getting better at tracking you and not just your business.
  8. Does anybody know if there are any creditors who do just a soft pull (personal) when considering an application. I don't mind doing a PG but I don't want my business accounts showing up on my personal credit and I don't want to have a bunch of hard personal pulls either. I know Key bank used to let you PG and didn't pull but I guess that's changed.
  9. Oops I never reported my results: I got a 10k credit line from Barclays on their US Airways MC. I was denied, called and asked for a recon got 7500, asked for 10k while on the phone and the UW gave it. The denial was because a family memeber (mom) thought adding me as an auth user to her credit card which she then maxed out was going to help me. It showed up the day I applied! The automated UW denied me for having a maxed out card, the real live UW saw that it was authorized user and thus gave the approval. I quickly got the auth user account removed! Thanks Mom! Chase denied me probably for mom's credit card and refused to reconsider or update the credit report a week later.
  10. I am just about to be one year out of Chap 7 Discharge, is that something that makes a difference with the lenders?
  11. Marv or anyone, Who out there is BK friendly with 620 plus scores? Looking for used car purchase. Have a roadloans approval at 18% with 1500 down. Thanks
  12. We just applied a month ago with my partners 804 credit score and got the same messge and then a denial. Called back and asked for a reconsideration and got a $7,500 credit line, asked for more while on the phone with the UW/anaylst and he upped it to $10,000. Just be carefu,l we started using the card the day it arrived and ended up fighting for 10 days with constant faud alerts and blocks being placed on the card. We'd call in and get the charges approved, they remove the bloc,k and then the next time we used the card even the same day they would flag again. They finally said that the account need to be verified and it took 5 days for them to unblock the account. No real explanation was given just that they had to review the account. It was just cleared up a day or two ago and again no explanation was given. So my recomendation is to call and ask for an approval update, if denied ask for a reconsideration. If the personal credit and utilization is good you should get something. Hope this helps.
