Why Would A Lender Push for This?

VA loan by the veteran- streamlined refi- they want the "Unmarried Spouse of Deceased Veteran" form to be filled out.

I pointed out to them that I'm not a widow, the veteran is still alive and the primary on this application, they still wanted it filled out.

 

Then they wanted a "Request for Military Records" form submitted. It doesn't just get them a copy of his DD214, but his whole military file. They say Obama requests them to have the whole file

 

I think they're trying to pull something, but what?

That is odd, My brother just done a VA loan, and I did not have to collect any of that.

obama doesnt make them request that.....
