04/30/09 Washington, DC – American troops serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan have a lot of things to think about, but a new proposal from Congressman Glenn Nye (VA-02) would make sure that a credit score is not one of them.

By a unanimous voice vote the House of Representatives today passed an amendment introduced by Nye as part of the Credit Cardholders Bill of Rights (H.R. 627). Nye’s amendment will protect deployed troops and injured veterans from receiving negative reports on their credit scores.

How many feel that this is a good thing, and where do you feel improvements to the Bill can be made?

Personally, I think it should cover more than just credit card debt. I am trying to get additional measures in place...but thankful that it's a step in the right direction for our service members.
