Is there any non-chexsystem banks or credit unions in Los Angeles county?

Someone gave me a bad cashier check when i was 17. I brought it to Bank of America and they let me withdraw half of it, deposited half of it. Later on they informed me that check was bad. They expected me to be responsible for everything, and they don't care. They also reported me to ChexSystem. I'm a student and jobless, unable to pay for it. Will ChexSystem remove me after 5 years even if it's unpaid? I wanna try apply U.S bank second checking account but not sure if they'll approve me. I have a few inquiries on Chexsystem report already

You should go into the US Bank Branch. I know the one in West Hollywood is pretty good. Santa Monica and San Vicente. Try it. DONT MENTION SECOND CHANCE CHECKING and see what ya get. Report back please.

BOA are aholes in respect to Chexsystems. Been there. Done that. And I had been in constant contact with the bank working to resolve the issue, when they just closed the account and sent me to Chexsystems. I haven't done business with them since. And that was 13 years ago. I paid the account and found myself a second chance account. Though I provided proof that the account reported in Chexsystems had been paid.

I would suggest calling and asking what the requirements are to get their account. It doesn't hurt to ask what they require and if they would approve based on xyz situation. How much longer till your 5 year sentence with Chexsystems would be over? It's been years since I have dealt with them so I couldn't tell you if they do or can continue to report longer if unpaid. I am sure someone else here would know. Seems this board is a wealth of information :)
