I just got my ChexSystems report today and I see that I have a $57.61 NSF charge from Suntrust that is dated 1/14/2005.

I just applied for an account with Alliant Credit Union. I was initially denied because of Chex but I received an email that stated I was manually reviewed and approved. Not sure what to make of that but...

Back to topic...

I'm wondering if I should try to get this "ding" removed since it is so close to the 5 years that Chex claims they keep files on their report. Is it worth it to rock the boat now or should I just let it go? Are they inclined to give good will removal of things that are about to move off anyway?

I really need a new checking and savings account and I'm really tired of ChexSystems so maybe I'm being too anxious?

I would try disputing, they can not keep it on longer than 5 years even if they don't remove you.

Ok I got a letter from Chex that said that they are investigating my claim and they would get back to me in 30 days. I sent my intiial letter off right around the first of March. What should I do next because they are way over and they are not responding I guess.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh shoot! biggrin.gif

I was about to send that letter off today MCA but got caught up doing something else. I came home and I got a letter from Chex saying that they could not verify with Suntrust in the time required so they were removing that derogatory account from my file!

I am now clean with Chexsystems!

But it did state that if Suntrust did some how verify it later that it would be reinserted. sad.gif I don't get that but what the heck ever. If they didn't do it in the correct amount of time how can they re-insert it. I figured that was Suntrust's loss.

It also said something about I can request that my file be sent to anyone that I have applied to in the past year? Should I do that? I mean this screwed me over with Alliant. And should I just call and request that or do I need to send a letter?
