after rebate. I have a V tech 900 Mhz that's probably 8-9 years old. Still works great, but the LCD display is gone. $4.99 is a good deal!!

Also, they have HP 4110 all in one printer, fax, scanner, copier for $99.99. I got one a few months ago for $149. It's great for working from home - small, doesn't take up much space, software is excellent, easy for us non-tech types B) - has OCR, makes pdf files, etc.

LOL, you only half read the post, silly. This one IS a 2.4 Ghz, not Mhz. My old one is a 900 Mhz. I use a landline when I want the conversation to be private.

Good deal but everyone in the neighborhood will be listening to your conversation.

Yep! OT: [short story] Me and sis were getting rid of a console tv (you read it right) about 8 years back -- just for fun we were sitting switching the channels because it had UHF. We get to channel 99 and hear a neighbor talking to one of his friends about his girlfriend, clear as day! It took us a minute to realize what we were hearing was coming from the tv since our window was open (we thought at first it was coming from outside and through our window); his friend even asked the neighbor where he was because he could hear background noise and the neighbor said he was walking to the mailbox; neighbor then began giving the friend directions because friend said he'd only been there a couple of times and it was at night. You can imagine our faces cracking when the neighbor gave his friend an address TWO DOORS down the street from us (medium sized block).

Two lessons: Me and sis now both have at least one phone that's not cordless because we don't want important conversations to be heard on an audible frequency AND if there's a power outtage, none of the cordless phones in your house will work. FOT (further off topic) We had a power outtage in our county a while back and all you could hear in the dark in our neighborhood was people on their cell phones in their driveways because all everyone had in their house was cordless phones. Nuf said.

Now, you know I have a link  : [read "Cordless Phone Range" the box to the right of the page]

Yep, same with wireless networking - all that stuff is actually on a radio frequency (non-techie, expounding on her vast techincal knowledge).

I believe some cellphones now can encrypt or scramble conversations, but I don't know much about it, so I still stick with a landline. It's amazing how many people are unaware.

I remember reading about thieves with laptops sitting in mall parking lots stealing CC #s as they were being broadcast over the stores' wireless terminals.

Hehe, I don't know much about which ones have encrypting technology. I guess I've had a cellphone about 10 years. Latest one is an Audiovox - not too fancy. If they do too much, I can't figure out how to use them. ;) I don't recommend them - not until they come up with a better battery. I have to recharge it ALL the time. Thank goodness for 12 volt adapters.

This one is supposed to have web access, but has to be html. :( Oh well, for $19.99 I guess I should be happy.

For that price I am suprised it even came with a battery, sometimes you have to invest a little to get a good product. Not to mention, nowadays they have so many at so many prices, you can get a ton for a low price. But I understand too that some people just dont give a rats a$$ :( .... To each his own

Yeah, I'm one of those. If it stores my phone numbers, and I can talk to people on it, I'm basically happy. However, I got it at that price when I renewed my contract for 2 years, so it was one of those deals.

Why are you picking on me tonight? Bored?

Woo hoo!! Hey, go for it. Inquiries don't count with biz credit. That is soooo cool. I'm getting a loan for a property I wasnt to buy, and I got a loan back in Feb - I have inquiries out the ying yang on my personal credit grrrrrrr. it's for 2 darn properties, and they're killing me. Scores went from 743 (when I started) to (now) 684. Because of 2 properties. You should read the reason codes on myfico. You would think I'd been on the credit-acquiring spree of a lifetime
