Well, we were approved at 5.99% from my CU.

We told the salesman that yesterday, he said they could beat it.

We went tonight to pick up the car, talk to the finance guy, tells us the "best" he could get is 7.49%. I tell him I had 5.99%, he pretty much said we couldn't get that anywhere, and that now we couldn't use our financing, and must finance through him or pay an extra $1200 for the car (despite no previous stipulations as such).

Needless to say, we walked out on him after a few choice words. I'm not happy, to say the least.

Sorry to hear that, but you didn't need that kinda crap anyway. Find a dealer who is going to be honest and work for your business (not really MUCH work to accept your own financing).

DH and I have been dealing with several dealerships who won't return calls, etc. and we've decided to NEVER give them any of our business. I'm a firm believer of if you treat a customer right, you can keep them for a lifetime. Abuse them, and you lose them and most likely everyone they know.

I hope you find someone to give you a great deal on the vehicle you want.

I did leave that dealer, and I'm not going back to them again.

I've already filed a series of complaints, from the BBB, the New York AG, GM Coorporate, and I even called 7 on Your Side (since my wife is 9 months pregnant, I figure it might make it a bit more interesting for them).

In addition, they refused to supply me with a copy of the original buyers agreement with the price, taxes etc. After I called coorporate, complained about all the practices (including that) and said that I was filing a complain with the attorney General, I got a call from the dealer 15 minutes later that I'd FINALLY be given the buyers agreement.

I'm usually very mild-mannered, but this pissed me off.

I actually had to Google 7 On Your Side (lol) since I had never heard of it. We have a news special like that here called You Paid For It. I wish you all the best. Also, be sure to report them to RipOffReport.com.

With those excellent credit scores you may be able to get under 5% on a new car loan.

Maybe.

We went to a different dealer, and got a car. And they had no issues taking our financing.

Anyway, since she wanted an SUV, we decided to go used to keep the costs down (since they've dropped like rocks).

Anyway, I've definately cooled off, and its a big relief to have finally gotten a deal done!

Well, what did ya get?!!!

Don't keep me in suspense, man! :P

2007 GMC Acadia. All options except for Leather, sunroof, and Nav pretty much. Even had a rear-seat DVD, which was a big surprise and a nice plus!

All in all, its about $1300 more than the Outlook would've been (but with many more options). We're happy, picking it up tonight (delivery today was the only stipulation this dealer had--the salesman was a DREAM to work with compared to the other place)
