Student loan rehabilitation program

I just got a call from the collections agengy (GC services) and they were offering to put me into the student loan rehabilitation program with 5 of my payments credited towards the fulfillment.

 

The thing that I find weirds, is that they want 3 references. Is that normal?

 

I went to the government site and couldn't find anything about them needing 3 references. http://www.ed.gov/offices/OSFAP/DCS/rehabilitation.html

Completely normal. On your original application for your loan you had to list 2-3 references. Provided you make your payments and payoff the loans, the references are never contacted. They are only for skip tracing purposes.
