never had an auto loan,I have an installment loan right now with american general,600 limit thats been paid on time for 3 months

 

also had a 6 month installment loan with world finance paid on time and in full but had a small limit

 

 

would I have better luck trying for a not so expensive car??

would a downpayment help me out marv?? I might be selling my daily driver truck here soon so I should have 1000 or so to use if it helps me out more

I have no doubt you can get approved on your own. However, with such a limited credit file, I don't think you're going to like the terms an conditions.

 

You will probably need a larger cash downpayment. You will be faced with a stout payment condition of a percentage of your provable gross monthly income. That in and of itself will limit your choices of automobiles, unless you have the cash to make up the difference.
