1st timers results (So Far) PAID CA's **FINAL UPDATE**

WEll I've been lurking since November and after doing the Name and Address cleanup, I sent out my first disputes on 3 small (under $80. each)Paid in Full (2 yrs ago) collections to the CRA's.

 

I got my EQF results today.After ripping open the envelope ( Never knew 30 days could be Soooo Looong... actually this came about 8 days early) I saw all 3 accounts listed.

Bummer, after pausing to go back to actually read it ,

 

There's ONE DELETE- Credit Protections TX for an Old Cable bill.

 

I'm OK with that- but was really hoping that I'd get 2 removed.

So anyway so now I'm wondering what to do with these other's (both are LOCAL CA's)

One has a DOLA of 8/97 and should fall of this summer I believe and will either let it fall off on it's own or maybe ask for deletion (did i read somewhere 3 mo?) a month or two early.

 

The other has a Dola 6/99 from a Dentist that I'm posititve they would have or be able to easily get any revelant info that I'd request for DV.

(sorry to sound negative) So I can live with that-

 

These are my only derogs- no lates on CC or other accounts- will pay off car loan in Oct (3-4 months early).

I've learned a lot on this site about credit in general. Fico's about 660 avg (maybe a little better with a DELETE now) , got a gas credit card and will apply for a dept store card or poss Amex to help "Round Out" my credit profile. I called and got increases on my 2 current credit cards and an APR drop to 9.99 on my Visa from 16.99 (Thanks credit boards- Didn't know I could ask for that!) My other is 10.9 from my Credit Union. (CU's Rock!! I recommend them to anybody- they lowered my Used Auto Loan without even asking from 7.25 to 5.5%!!)

 

So pay attention other Newbies- It's not just about gettting derog's off it's what you learn from the journey. Anyway to get off my rant. Thanks Everyone and any suggestions on the above???

You may have luck with the HIPAA letter for paid collections.

Dangit- only one of the three paid baddies fell off. . I'm aware most people have the most difficulty with Experian. I was really estatic when TU came back all deleted!!!!

 

So what should I pursue next??? I disputed the as "Not Mine" with the CRA's only --Wondering if the 1-2 punch would've been more effective.

Should / Can I do a 1-2 punch ( I don't think I can dispute not mine again can I? Should I wait a while before trying ?? I'm happy about a 33%, 100% and 33% success rate. Probably many on this board would kill for that. I'm nervous that if I contest the 2 remaining CA's that they could rereport to TU and I'd be worse off than I am now. BTW they didn't do any pulls so I don't have leverage there. Thanks.

 

Just another interesting note.. TU was the one I DIDN'T send my disputes CMRRR by the way. Wonder if that was a contributing factor on a 1st Timers results. Hope this helps someone else.
