I bought a car from a small dealer who did in house financing. I bought this car in Sept 2001 to reestablish my credit. I had 2 repo's about 4-5 years ago. Well they told me that they would report to the credit agency and never did. Now they are going to put it on there and backdate it. Apparently they go through a company in Florida that goes to the credit bureaus and adds this on there. I have a copy of the form they sent.

My question is I wanted to get a different car and got denied because this didn't show on my credit report. Well, now I got a guy who is able to finance me but I can only pick certain cars. Should I wait my current auto loan shows on my credit and then try to get another car?

I've made all my car payments on time since Sept 2001 so that should've reestablished me right? Does anybody know if this form they are sending to report all of my payments to the credit bureaus work? and How long does it take? I still have a ton of collections on my report that I'm still paying off. So, the car loan is the only thing that is showing as me re-establishing my credit.

Thanks in advance!!!

Try CapOne Auto. If they deny you, they will probably send you a preapproval letter for Carfund, their indirect arm. This can be used at any dealer that Capone has signed up. I'm in Ohio, and statewide there are about 50 dealers enrolled in this program. If you want a luxury car though, few are luxury (BMW,MB,Lexus Infiniti etc.) dealers.

Lots of Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, Toyota dealers though!
