I'm pending manual review on my GradPlus loans, since I was denied the electronic preapproval, despite the fact that they pulled my best score.

This, of course, is causing me to have a massive panic attack, believing I'll never be able to go to medical school, and initiating a downspiral of credit hellness.

So, to be proactive, I'm exploring other options, in case I'm denied in manual review. My scores are listed in my sig. Any clues on what loans would work for me? I'm thinking Sallie Mae, but I've heard mixed things from them being willing to give a loan to almost anyone all the way to not being able to have ANY baddies if you go with them.

Who do they pull? I'm seeing a lot on EQ, which is bad for me... EX is okay if I can get this frigging FA off.

Edit: Though all my scores are above 650, I have unpaid COs on EQ and EX. Will this be a dealbreaker?

Any advice on loan companies that will let me through with unpaid COs? I need to report to school by Jan 9!!

Thanks!

You're gonna start MS-1? Then you must love PowerPoints.

Check out this PDF straight from SallieMae:

http://www.salliemae.com/NR/rdonlyres/03DF...tationFinal.pdf

Page 62 is what ya want. Sallie Mae requires a 640 FICO for every loan program EXCEPT MedLoans, where they state their underwriting is "judgmental." Now whether that means they're more or less lenient I have no idea.

By the way, they pull Equifax for me, and I've been approved with paid COs. Since you'll be looking at MedLoans and since you have unpaid COs, my anecdote won't really help you.

Maybe try calling them? I know this is shocking, but maybe they'll help you. I mean, it's in their best interest to help you fund all your island daiquiris *ahem* textbooks and fees. Good luck.

Thank you...

I'm really hoping!

It seems... argh... STUPID that a 6.5 year old paid CO on a secured credit card and a Crap One card I don't think I ever got may keep me out!

I applied to sallie and was turned down for $40k, and then counter offered $20k. My score was 779 and they pulled EQ. I do have 1 CO that is over 6 years old. I have heard, and now believe that they don't like any CO's. Best of luck.
