Hey guys. Decided to consolidate my SL with Citibank. I have 1 with Direct Loans Dept Ed and another with Sallie Mae that I used for grad school. Sallie Mae told me that I can't have my loans consolidated while I am in school. Is this correct?

So once I finish school, can I consolidate Sallie Mae with Citi?

No. Your consolidation options are Sallie Mae or Direct Loans. You can't consolidate with Citibank. The only company Sallie Mae will release to is Direct Loans and you have to give the reason that you need the Income Contingent plan.

You can do an in school consolidation thru June 30th. After that you would be out of luck.

Another dumb question. So if I consolidate them with Direct Loan, can I then consolidate with Citi?
