My work got notice about garnishing my wages, and has been complying for a few months now, but now through a series of events I am going to become a contractor for them.

how will the garnishment go now that they are just cutting me a check, can i contact suntrust(i think thats the creditor requesting garnishment) and enter in to rehab, now that i am contracting i will have more money available to me, and will be responsible for paying back the loan now(which I will be able to do)

When you become a contractor, will you be employed through someone else, or will you essentially be self employed?

Essentially Self employeed, the reason I am doing this is to establish residency in another state, I will be moving but still working for my current employeer in a contractor capacity.

Well, if you are self employed, then you will not face wage garnishment. Instead, they will take tax returns, levy your social security should you ever draw it, and find other ways to make your life miserable.
