  1. I have a small amount left on my student loans ($99 on one, and $171 on another), but they have been in 120+ days late status for a long time, as I didn't know that I still had that little to pay back. Is there anything I can do to turn the trendline positive? I can pay it off completely, but I don't want to do that if I can do something that will make it not sit as negative for the next 7 years or so. I assume contacting them and setting up a rehab for the next 12 months isn't going to fly since it's such a small amount, and I make enough to not qualify for it.
  2. The Chase card is the only thing I've applied for in 3-4 years, in the last 2 years I have an auto loan, and 2 background check inquiries. I did apply for the Freedom Unlimited last night got the review response. Don't know if i'll get it but i'm happy just being approved for the CSP card in the first place. That auto loan counts as applying for 'something'. Which review response? Two week or 7-10 days? Good luck!! I'm pretty sure it was 7-10 days, does that mean something different than the two week response?

  4. I have no idea if this might even be the case or not, but I'm on my iPad, are you possibly using a computer with Adblock enabled?
  5. I just found out about chase credit journey, and being a chase customer I signed up, when I got in the site I found out that there were 4 prequalified offers Chase freedom unlimited Chase sapphire preferred Chase slate Chase freedom I applied to the CSP card after reading another post that was a VERY similar situation and was approved for $9k. Do the other 3 prequalified offers still "stand"? Should I apply for them right now as well?
  6. Accidentally duplicated post
  7. Anyone know if there is anything I can do for this?
  8. I'm trying to dispute my 2 paid CC judgements in EX and I get the following message, This dispute requires special assistance and cannot be processed online. It is necessary for you to contact us at 1 800 493 1058 so that we may better assist you with this item. <-- Should I just call the number and hope for the best? One of the judgements also shows Reinvestigation information This item was updated from our processing of your dispute in Oct 2015. from a previous time i tried to dispute it, does anyone know if the 2nd one has a snowballs chance of being removed?
  9. I have 2 student loans (1 = $2800ish, 1 = $4400ish) that are showing up on my CRA's as opened in 2008 (1/1/2008 or 1/17/2008 depending on the CRA). The last time I went to school was in 1998/1999. What's worse is depending on the CRA, they are reporting duplicates Most are USDOE, but 2 in TU and EQ show as Fed Loan Servicing EX = 2 TU = 5 EQ = 7 What if anything can I do about this? I'm willing to pay them off if they are mine, but I was never in school in 2008 and I "THOUGHT" my loans were paid off from that (wasn't much only around $12k borrowed) EX and TU show them all as closed or transferred (one on TU), and all but 2 on EQ closed the 2 on EQ that aren't showing as closed have the Date of First Delinquency: 4/2013 Date Major Delinquency First Reported: 7/2014 Date of Last Payment: 11/2015 <-- Don't remember making any payments last year and are showing as 90+ every month to current. I think that they are pretty much whats keeping me in the 650 range, I have 1-2 PAID judgements on the CRA's that are 3+ years old, and one collections from Nationwide insurance for $82 that i just discovered that the CA appears to be re-aging, other than that, i'm at 0% utilization with 4 CC and an auto loan that's never had a missed payment. I'm trying to get everything cleaned up so I can buy a house next year if possible, but with the housing prices in L.A. being what they are I want to make sure I get the best possible interest rate.
  10. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a virtual card or a one time card from capital one? I'm looking on google, but I cant find anything about capitalone.
  11. I'm currently leasing a 2005 Honda Element with 81k miles on it, and i have to find a new car by August or buy it outright. I'm currently looking at a 2011 Buick Regal because of the 0/0/0 deal they are offering, but I'm wondering if I can use my leased vehicle as a trade in. The buyout on it is $5500ish, and NADAonline lists it as having a trade in of $9500-10500. Would the dealership have the ability to work with that extra $5000 as a down payment? or would I HAVE to buy the car out right and trade it in or sell it, pay off the loan and have my new car?
  12. 3 years here with a $200 limit, as soon as I get some more credit under my belt, they are going to get kicked from me too...
  13. wait for AA and CLD's. Then apply. why would that happen? my score is going up? if by AA you mean Adverse Action and CLD is Credit Line Decrease... credit card companies get itchy when you start doing big lump payments, and many here have been AA'd, CLD'd, and balance chased when they did big payments. OH... those BASTARDS! well by big lump sum, i meant $700 on my $1000CL card, and $500 on my target, not huge sums, but rather than stretching it out for a year, i decided to just rip the band aid off. I only have 3 cards totalling about $1700, I really, REALLY want to see some more improvement in my credit score, last month it was in the mid 500's now its in the 630 range for all the CRA's so I wanted to strike while the iron was hot, according to MyFico's credit simulator.

  15. I recently paid off all my credit cards, one big lump sum. now my utilization is somewhere near 4-5% and my scores just jumped today according to creditchecktotal and when I pulled myfico.com reports. everything is in the 630 range. I have 2 baddies still that are set to drop off very soon(november and march/april) My question is, should I apply for new credit? or should I wait some more before I do that. and if i should apply, what should I apply for?
