Absolutely. Not sure where in the heck they get their info from. It was interesting, although a bit scary.

I too got mine free by writing to them. It is a bit scary, isn't it? Names of neighbors, potential properties owned (some you do own, some you don't but they think you might), vehicle registrations (neither of mine were there though), it's amazing and frightening what data mining can do. If I were a collections agent or skip tracer, THAT is the report I'd want to see on a person. Once you sift through the incorrect garbage there'd be gold in them thar hills.

Oh, and according to them they are NOT a consumer credit reporting agency, and therefore not bound by the FCRA in any way, so inaccurate information just stays there and that's that. Nice, huh?

Let me know if there is significant interest in this topic, and I can work on finishing my list and getting it out there to folks.

I would also be very interested in this list. Thanks!

OK, I'll work on it and post a reply when I'm done.

OP, if you are still looking for LexisNexis's consumer page where you can order your report, here it is:

http://www.lexisnexis.com/privacy/for-cons...nformation.aspx

FYI, took me a L O N G T I M E to find that site!

30-60 days to get your report from Lexis-Nexis seems a bit excessive. I wonder why they would take that long...beyond the fact that it gives them the ability to include you on a list they can sell...a list that shows you will be at the location you ordered the report from for 30-60 days.

The world is getting scarier.

Yikes!! the amount of information LN compiles even when it is not complete is scary, granted all of this is public information that was out there and LN is just an aggregator but still consumers should be able to limit some info from being there. Now imagine if Amazon or Google started selling their databases...

Anybody know why the Choicetrust personal information report I attempted to order perpetually states, "PLEASE RETURN IN 30 MINUTES?" IT HAS FOR it has said this for more than 24 hours...anybody else have the same problem?.

Here is a brief summary based on my hundreds of hours of research on the topic of Specialty CRAs. I have detailed data on each of these organizations, including information about how to obtain your free reports, consumer websites, etc... I am currently struggling with getting the information out of my research database and into a format I can post in this forum. In the meantime, if anyone has questions about a particular company, I am happy to post what I know.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS, ETC...

I am also documenting the companies defined as Resellers by the FCRA. Many of the companies named by others in this post are not Nationwide Specialty Consumer Reporting Agencies (NSCRAs), but are in fact Resellers of the NSCRA data. Resellers are not required to do much under the FCRA... I will post this list in a separate topic, and keep this one strictly related to NSCRAs.

NSCRAs List by FCRA Category

You are entitled to a free yearly consumer report from each of the following organizations, assuming that they have a file containing data about you. Each of the following organizations has a proprietary data source, which, in theory, is regulated by the FCRA/FACTA. Some companies have excellent legal compliance, but many do not acknowledge that they need to release their data to consumers.

Below is a summary of Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies (CCRAs) and Nationwide Specialty Consumer Reporting Agencies (NSCRAs). The category (0) Credit History is not defined explicitly by the FCRA, but it is implicit within the document that there are "Credit Reporting Agencies," defined as a subset of "Consumer Reporting Agencies." The other categories (1-5), as well as the term Nationwide Specialty Consumer Reporting Agency (NSCRA) are defined in section 603(w) of the FCRA.
