One thing that hasn't been mentioned is, "is it worth it"? I went to the Carnival site and discovered that you need 30,000 miles to get a inside cabin cruise for 3-4 days for 2 people. That means you have to transfer up to $5000, and then spend $25,000 to get a cruise worth less than $2000. Assume that you racked up the balance and paid it off in a year. You'd still pay over $5000 in interest assuming an 18% APR. You can juggle it all you like, but like most "rewards" programs, all you get is a minimal amount of payback for an incentive to use your card a lot more often than you probably should. The banks are counting (usually correctly) on consumers to lose sight of the bigger picture--interest paid on the balance--while pursuing whatever overrated gimmick they offer.

Just my 2 cents, plus fees and interest.

Rewards are only rewarding if you PIF.

True but you get double points when you buy Carnival cruises or use it for your sail and sign account. If you cruise often with Carnival anyway, you could get free cruise eventually.

$25K / 2 (double miles for Carnival cruise and S & S) = $12.5K and $12.5K would be 5-6 balcony cruises for 2, maybe even 3-4 if you have large S & S accounts.

I agree the rewards aren't fantastic, but if you cruise ANYWAY....it might be worth it if you PIF. Carnival owns Princess and Holland America, I wonder if those count. Hell, one nice Holland America Cruise with a suite might get you a free cruise on Carnival.

Let me bring this thread back from the dead....Is juniper considered sub-prime? If so, when it becomes Barclays, will it still be sub-prime? Is Barclays considered prime in the UK? Jennifer Aniston doesn't seem to think so.

Lemme see...Take the questions one at a time...

1. Not really, but not super-prime either.

2. Probably not.

3. Yes, but they have a range of products.

Who knows?

Good questions, dons!!!

The Barclays deal is, as of yet, a big question mark, but, then again, so is the B of A merger with MBNA. Personally, I would convert it, but that's just me!

Did anyone have luck with Juniper CLI at activation? Just curious. :swoon:

Nope, they tell you that you have to make $200k a year to speak to their credit analyst.
