it asking to specify the amount of the loan..... am I doing something wrong

No. Even I put in a request for $10,000.

 

I was counter offered $2,500 - of course I took it!

I just confirmed that my rate is 12% - of course, there's no CASH Advance fees or higher APR on that 12%.

 

Once my credit is in the 700's then I'll negotiate for the lower rate/upgrate to platinum/CL increase, etc.

Congrats! Was your approval instant (same time as membership app.) or were you already a member?

I just got a message saying they couldn't approve me instantly, but I'd get a decision within the next 10 minutes

My approval wasn't instant - and I wasn't already a member. I signed up for just a share savings account just to build a new relationship with them.

 

Later I decided to go ahead and try for my own credit card - and I got the email saying that I'd get a decision in 10 minutes (it ended up being 3 days later).

Applied!! Asked for a $10000.00 visa. Got the same 2 messages. So we shall see in 2 days what the final decision is. Does it really take that long for them to get back to you? And how do they respond on email or by phone?

well I have a BK showing on Ex also, but I have opened cc's since then and my score is a 616. Is that BK goona make me "dead in the water". I mean I got the same email messages that everyone else got, I am sure that they would of just said "DENIED" like DCU did, right? I know that $10K was a lot to ask for, just wanted to see what type of counter offer they would come up with.
