I came home today and had a letter from WFNNB.

Initially I had sent a goodwill letter to the store where I purchased some furniture many years ago and was declined. They said they contacted WFNNB, but the back wouldn't do anything. So I sent WFNNB one directly and got favorable results. Although I'm kind of confused by their letter.

It essentially said that they'd be removing the 30-day late pays that were reported in the past two years (four in all) and that this info should be reflected in 30 to 45 days with the CRAs. The weird thing is that I don't have any late pays after July of 2003 according to my CRs. I do have a contact person and phone number so I'm thinking about calling next week. They also said I could dispute with the CRAs after that time.

Has anybody had a reply like this before?

So it's a good thing ... albeit confusing at the moment.

Just wanted to share.

Sounds similiar to my experience with a Citibank GW letter. They sent a response stating that they would remove the lates from my credit reports within 30 days. If the CRA's didn't remove the lates, I could forward the letter or dispute. The dispute worked with TU. EX and EQ deleted on their own.

What lates were you asking them to delete?

Also, I have a some old Structure lates...would you mind sharing the address you sent your letter to?

I didn't reference any specific lates - just that I've been good since July 2003. I'll just see what happens. I'm tempted to call them though, but I want to wait until the lates are removed. Who knows .. lol

The address I used was:

WFNNB

Attn: Ivan Szeftel, President

800 TechCenter Drive

Gahanna, OH 43230

Good Luck!

Hmm. You'll have to see if they mistyped their letter and really meant they'd delete all lates, or if they screwed up and are only going to re-report the currents you already have over the past two years.

I hope they just mistyped and meant to say that they would delete all lates! Good luck!

Well ...

I spoke to the person who sent me the letter stating that they'd remove all the late pays within the past 24 months. She stated that their system only show the past 24 months and that I could send her the parts of my CR that deal with the account in question and she'd see what she can do. She also stated that they would have to do some digging but she'd be more than glad to help.

My question is do I send her the info and continue along this path or assume that they won't dig out the info and disupte the account with the CRAs?

The account hasnt' been late since June of 2003 so I dont think it's dong too much damage to my FICO, but I want it off.

Thanks for any thoughts and comments. I have the letter and enclosures ready to go I just wanted to get some insight before I act.

I have been successful in the past just by asking over the phone. I had three 90 days with WFNNB (Vicky's Secret) and have been very lucky to find som amiable reps who deleted ALL negative tradelines. This was pre-CB, so I consider myself extremely lucky with this card.

I have a few things...

First, I want to send letters about 3 different WFNNB cards. I have a 30 day for each from January 07, due to simply overspending. But, I am paying off ALL my CC debt within the next few days. Should I send to this person/address or no? And, should I send one letter referencing all three accounts, or should I send three different letters?

Also, regarding a recon for WFNNB (JCrew), where should I write? Someone with correct information, please respond.

Lastly, for anyone interested, I called that number listed above about 2 seconds ago. I didnt talk to the person  , but its 1:04 am EST and a person picked up.

That will be all. Goodnight/morning, CBers!

how does the getting negative tradelines work, or how to i get them to just report it differnly, like paid collection

The goodwill letter is nothing more than a letter saying that you messed up for whatever reason and asking them if they'll remove the negative notations on your credit report.

A paid collection is just a damaging as a an updaid one AFAIK.

Write a GW letter. Like I said, I got lucky and I was pre-cb. But my account wasn't charged off and didn't go to collections. They just took away my credit limit for a little while, then reinstated it after 6 months of consecutive payment and a $ balance.
